27-0 win @ Athens? Lol, ok.

After starting 4-0 with a surprise win over Ole Miss, media begins to crown Jacob Eason like they did Josh Rosen a year ago. Eason starts getting heisman hype. Georgia jumps up into the top 10.

Then reality hits.

Bob Shoop's defense totally confuses young Mr. Eason. We pick him off 4 times returning 2 for TDs.

27-0 dominating win.

You're a little more optimistic than me D4H but I'm not far away from you.

Sep. 1 vs Appalachian State 41-16 (W)

Sep. 10 vs Virginia Tech 45-20 (W)

Sep. 17 vs Ohio 48-10 (W)

Sep. 24 vs Florida 34-13(W)

Oct. 1 at Georgia 30-16(W)

Oct. 8 at Texas A&M 30-31(L)

Oct. 15 vs Alabama 20-17(W)

Oct. 29 at South Carolina 52-14(W)

Nov. 5 vs Tennessee Tech 55-6(W)

Nov. 12 vs Kentucky 48-13(W)

Nov. 19 vs Missouri 37-10(W)

Nov. 26 at Vanderbilt 44-14(W)

Dec. 3 vs LSU (SEC Championship) 27-17(W)

Dec. 31 vs Clemson(CFP Peach Bowl) 23-26(L)

12-2 overall record. Making the 4 team playoff would be a great accomplishment. I would like for us to win it all too but facing a team like Clemson or Ohio State would be too tough I think. Can we beat either of those teams?

Yes, but I think we fall short. We get the right matchup in the 4 team playoff & get 3 other teams in that a couple that weren't expected then look at. We could win it all afterall. GO VOLS!

Clemson isn't making the playoffs. They're losing 3 games.

at Auburn
at FSU

and a surprise loss to someone like Boston College.

So you're saying Butch Jones will be fired?

No way he's safe if we lose to Florida......again.

That we lose at all.

Like DF4 & his confidence + prediction there's a possibility we do go undefeated. The Texas A&M game we can win. That's the only game I predict we lose. We win the A&M game we will go 12-0. Then, we beat LSU in the SEC Championship to go 13-0.

That definitely puts us in the 4 team playoff with a higher seed like #2 or #1. This would give us a much better chance of winning the national title. I don't think this will happen but I give us a 40% chance to win it all if we do.

I never pick us to lose in July. I understand it can happen, but not in July. For the longest we have needed help to win some games and didn't get it. Times have changed we don't need help, we are stacked and focused, the time is now for something special from the Vols.

Not a real Vol fan, imho. If it's not a shutout every game, if we don't repeat the season-long "unbeaten, untied, unscored upon" of yesteryear, it's not really a great year, is it?

Come on, D4H, I expect greatness of you. This is just mediocre. Buck up, man!

I have to agree. I opened this thread expecting to see shutouts across the board. I'm disappointed

Great year overall. Alabama continues to give us troubles and we can't overcome the defense still aided by nick Saban.

12-2 to end the year with a great defensive unit overall. Offense expands but still lacks a great passing game but Dobbs limits his turnovers and has a great year on the ground.

Solid year that helps Butch to sell an actual product.

We could easily be heading into the Fl game with three shutouts. Easily is a stretch, but it is a legit possibility.
