2016 Election

How could they possibly think this will be received well?

Interesting/Crazy http://www.cnbc.com/2016/03/03/gop-gets-ready-to-go-nuclear-over-trump-commentary.html

The strategy has three main stages:
  1. Lay a groundwork for major party donors and leaders to refuse to support Trump even if he wins a majority of the delegates.
  2. Get behind one of the remaining GOP candidates, and give him the financial support and enough political cover to run even as a third candidate in the November race.
  3. Play Electoral College math and hope that no one wins the required 270 electoral votes in November. That throws the election into the heavily GOP-controlled House and gives the presidency to the establishment-blessed Republican.

I'm not talking about processes. I mean individual voters on voting day. Two people I work with for example. One is a die hard Cruz supporter. The other I think Cruz but I haven't heard her say that's who she'll vote for. She talks crap about Hillary/Bernie any time politics come up. Both have said they will not vote for Trump. If Trump is the republican candidate they'll either vote for a 3rd party candidate or stay home.

I've heard other people on radio call in shows here in Memphis share the view. They consider themselves a republican but will not vote for Trump. Trump may have a large fanbase, but there is a segment of republican voters that will not vote for him if he's the candidate.

Same can be said of Cruz. I will not under any circumstance I can imagine would vote for Cruz. Now I am not a Republican, I am a moderate independent voter.

I forget how much you love government regulation.
No, I know how stupid people are and sometimes they need protecting from themselves. Or I guess you are the one person (other than my wife) that reads ALL of the fine print on your medications. People don't read that, and on many of the side effects is the wording 'may cause death'. Pharmacologists are not made on TV commercials. Some stuff could be taken out of the prescription realm, but not all. Or maybe people killing themselves is OK with you?

One thing that cannot be more obvious from this stunt is that the GOP establishment would rather have Hillary as president than Trump.

Just saw a clip from when Trump endorsed Romney and Romney was talking about what great business man he (Trump) was and how he was a great job creator.

Now he's a business failure who inherited his business?

Go back to boxing Romney

racist photo. imho:crazy:

The more Trump gets attacked though the less likely his supporters will go with the non-Trump nominee.

Catch-22.

Yep. And that 35-40% hes getting right now is a big number if this gate was swinging the other way. Right now its being scoffed at. The GOP establishent cant win the way it is.

It's either get behind Trump or accept Clinton.

If I'm Trump, my only response would to say "Hey check out this video I found! " then play the clip of Romney praising him. Then say something like "I guess getting your ass kicked causes memory loss."

I thought the Romney speech was a pretty accurate assessment, but my God was the presentation awful. He is not the person who should be delivering that message - hell, he praised Trump effusely several years ago. Now he just sounds like a sore loser. This won't have any major effect besides polarizing the two camps even further.

The fact the republican party wants trump out so bad makes me question alot and honestly makes me wanna vote for him.

I hate both parties anymore but the republicans are full blown tards lately.

Neither give a damn about anyone other than lobbyist.

people on talk radio calling in are pissed about the Romney speech. This is totally going to backfire.

ok now you look at who trump funded, there is a full list out there you need me to show you a copy?

No, I know who he has donated to, and again I say it's just business.

Cruz on the other hand wants to sell himself as an outsider while his benefactors are definitely establishment money men.

I don't believe that. If that were the case then why not unify behind Cruz and attempt to topple Trump? Cruz seems to be the only one who is even close to being able to do that. The fact is the establishment does not adhere to the things Cruz believes.

Yikes, GOP in full meltdown over Trump mess. As a Dem, I'm pulling for Trump bc he'll fair poorly in the overall race.

This mess is music to Clinton's ears. It looks like either way you're going to have a lot of pissed off people on the GOP side. Clinton may win with the lowest favorability ratings in years.
