It is possible for a president to stand on his principles and still work with his opposition to pass his policies, many have.

With the majority of the GOP and all the Dems despising Cruz, how do you think he can get any of his policies through Congress?

Why back someone that policy stances you support when that candidate cannot get those policies passed?
Same way Obama does.... with a pen and a phone.

Still doesn't answer how they are going to identify them in the first place save the mandatory E-Verify.

Or how we're going to fund the detention centers along with the sundry items needed while there.

Or who's or rather how we are going to fund the transport to the respective nation.

Or what happens when the original nation refuses to allow them back in.

Or where the money is going to come from to fund 15,000 additional ICE Officers.

Or how he's going to go around the Citizenship Clause of the 14th Amendment.

With all the fraud and waste in government including the one billion plus in vacation funds I'm sure they can find the funds.

Or you could just admit it's all just wonderful sounding quips made to gain votes just like every other candidate out there.

Well, Trump finally got prodded into putting specifics on paper...

Trump unveils seven-point healthcare reform plan | Fox News

After months of promising to repeal ObamaCare, but failing to spell out how — and what would replace it — Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump finally revealed some specifics Wednesday night, including doing away with the individual mandate that requires everyone to have health insurance, an apparent reversal of his previous support for the provision.

Trump also proposes that states take over management of Medicaid and provide incentives to eliminate fraud and waste.

The seven-point plan, posted on the GOP frontrunner’s website, slammed the Affordable Health Care Act, saying it has “tragically but predictably resulted in runaway costs, websites that don’t work, greater rationing of care, higher premiums, less competition and few choices.”

Here's the highlights:

  • Completely repeal Obamacare. Our elected representatives must eliminate the individual mandate.
  • Modify existing law that inhibits the sale of health insurance across state lines.
  • Allow individuals to fully deduct health insurance premium payments from their tax returns under the current tax system.
  • Allow individuals to use Health Savings Accounts (HSAs). Contributions into HSAs should be tax-free and should be allowed to accumulate.
  • Require price transparency from all healthcare providers, especially doctors and healthcare organizations like clinics and hospitals.
  • Block-grant Medicaid to the states.
  • Remove barriers to entry into free markets for drug providers that offer safe, reliable and cheaper products.

Trump finally got smart and took away some of the ammunition that would likely be used against him tonight.

Remove barriers to entry into free markets for drug providers that offer safe, reliable and cheaper products.

That alone could save people a tremendous amount of money.

When one can order meds from our neighbor to the north and save 2/3rd of the cost, something is wrong with the US Pharmaceutical market. We are getting ripped off.

It'll make the debate interesting tonight for sure since Rubio and Cruz can't go after him on health care policy (or lack thereof) any longer. Of course, they'll hit him on the flipflop from liking the individual mandate to now saying he wants it to go away and I'd expect to see a couple of attack ads with that in the near future.

Overall though, had he done something like this months ago, he might have all but sewed up the nomination on Tuesday. Of course, had the other candidates gone after him months ago on his lack of a plan, he might not have made it this far.

Who is proud of the Republican party this morning?

We get to hear loser Romney give a speech today trying to destroy the candidate running away with the primaries with the support of the Republican establishment. Then start running attack ads against him.

This is a disgrace by the leaders of the Republican party. They do not own the party, the Republican voters own the party. All this is going to do is anger more people and drive them away from the establishment.

You're cranky this morning.

Two words: prune juice.

First off I am not a Republican, I am a conservative

If Romney comes out and blasts Trump, Trump will sweep every state from here forward by 10 points

Not a bad start, better than any I've seen from the other candidates.

Do you think this is a good move by the party?

Do you think a few elected officials and rich people own the party?

Without the Republican voters there is no republican party. If the establishment thinks they decide who the president nominee is, appoint one and do away with the primaries. If there are going to be primaries, live with the results and go on.
