Are you denying the allegations against the founder of CIS? If not you're simply wasting my time and we are speaking in circles. Until we determine if CIS is a valid source or not, then you're wasting my time to continually quoting them.

And yes I did dispute your claims. I said they are known for manipulating numbers and I see no proof that 51% of households receive Medicaid and 22% receive food stamps. Both appear to be extremely exaggerated claims, since illegals qualify for neither program.

Here's what I'd like: we all know immigrants do a lot of good in our economy. Illegals pay into SS and Medicaid that they'll never receive. And immigrants are more likely to start a business than anyone native born.

So find one example of CIS giving a argument that immigration is a good thing. If you can find that I'll accept your information.

Speaking of numbers..there's a plumbing company in Charlotte a whose phone number is 867 5309...and they steal the 2 seconds of Jenny that says the number. I think that's brilliant even though it's actually stealing in my eyes, though legal. Nobody my age will forget that number though , and the cleverness of that males me think of them first when I think about a plumber. Fun fact of the day..plumbing is named after the Latin word for lead..plumbium?..because the Romans used lead pipes for all their drinking water...doh..that's not healthy. Innovation is often painful.

What I'm saying is your numbers prove nothing. The first paragraph you referenced even mentions how much the numbers vary. One of the reports included shows illegal immigration creates hundreds of millions in revenue and another shows it costs the government 19 billion a year. Not exactly strong evidence.

Does the report say it concluded illegals were a net negative for all levels of government or not?
You wouldn't know evidence if it smacked you in the face. You can continue to think illegals are wonderful and mighty contributors and I'll continue to think you're dunderheaded half wit mouth breather

I would give you credit for being a good troll, but unfortunately I think your ignorance and inability to apply reason is genuine.

It's a reasonable request. If you believe CIS is truly a non partisan research organization, then they should have found at least one positive of immigration. Like that immigrants are more likely to start a business, and are more likely to own a Fortune 500 business.

I'm just asking for you to show me that they can be fair and objective. Everything I've seen from them appears highly biased.

As far as taxation is concerned, they do not pay property taxes. They get no credit for it, nor can they deduct any of their rent payments as mortgage interest. If it makes you and huff feel good to give renters credit for paying property taxes, have at it. It is a silly academic stance that has no application in the real world. :eek:k:

Since I am a landlord, I have had this same argument with Huff before. I have tried to stay silent the last couple of times this came up. My guess is if there were no property taxes, that the rent would still be the same, since the price of rent is determined by supply and demand, more than overall cost of the rental property to the landlord. I think that their argument is more of a paper argument than real world.

Does it factor into the price of rental property? Maybe a little, but far less than they think I believe. I have never raised or lowered rent based on changes in property taxes, and I have been through a few.

Yep. I agree. I have rental property as well. I am on the hook for the taxes. If I do not pay, the .gov will not go after the renter. Ever.

It is a paper argument, hence my response that if it makes them feel better to credit renters with paying property taxes, then they can have at it. It is a silly academic stance of semantics.
