2016 Election

Beats me.

It's turned into a partisan issue, just like illegal immigration. Democrats want more votes, the Republicans want fewer Democrat votes.
As a registered voter and an American, I just want each living citizen to be casting but one vote. Period. How ever that has to be accomplished, that is what need be done. Whether or not this is a rampant crime can be debated until the cows return to Capistrano, but that is what needs to be done to legitimize the process. If there is one fraudulent vote, the process is tainted. With today's technological capabilities, this is totally unacceptable.

It shouldn't be hard to track, but it is. It shouldn't be hard to get a photo ID either, but apparently that is racist and places an undue burden on the poor. It is funny that people can magically come up with one when it is needed at the liquor store though. I think that it is much easier to commit voter fraud than it is to commit welfare fraud or Social Security fraud, and there are people that have PhDs in that kind of criminal activity.

Why do you claim it's hard to track?

And Id can be hard to obtain because of all the other documents needed along with the time and money to do it. DMV hours aren't even easy for me to get to

How do you believe people are casting multiple votes and how does an ID prevent that?

Getting an ID can be very difficult. Those places are almost never open. In one state (Wisconsin I believe) they're literally only open on the fifth Wednesday of the month (so they're open less than 12 times a year, probably less than 9).
If voting is important to you, you will find a way to get there. There are 3 years between presidential elections and 2 between most general elections. You can get one of those days off.

Voting is a right. We shouldn't be excusing ways of making voting more difficult for Americans. If anything we should be asking how we can make it more accessible

How many peoples socials, date of birth, and address do you know? You'd also have to know if they were registered to vote and in what precinct. On top of that you'd have to know that they do not plan on voting.

That's not an easy amount of information to get.
Give it to your class as a project next year. I'll betcha those kids will have reams of data for you. You are completely FOS on this issue.

disenfranchised. :cray: what a bunch of whiny liberal crap.

What would they do with this information?

I'm not sure how this isn't obvious, but lets start with your original post below.

Have people state their name, date of birth, address and social. If they get 3 out of 4, then allow them to vote (incase of typographical errors).

Would that not protect the process without disenfranching voters?

Then tennvols replied with this.

Present both SS card and photo ID. Not having a photo ID of any kind is hard to imagine in today's world. Those who do not have a photo ID, well, probably shouldn't be voting.

And then you asked this.

How many peoples socials, date of birth, and address do you know? You'd also have to know if they were registered to vote and in what precinct. On top of that you'd have to know that they do not plan on voting.

And I replied with this.

This isn't the question that is really relevant imo. The question is how many socials, date of birth, and address would either the Dem's or the Pub's have access to which they could then provide to others?

I didn't think I would have to actually spell it out 88, but if the Dems or Pubs have access to that information (which they do), and can easily check if people have been active voters or not (which they can), then it would not be difficult to get the information for those who have never voted (or have not voted in years) and provide that information to anyone else who could then represent them self as that person... thus stealing a vote.

If they can provide date of birth, full name, and address I'm alright with that. Add a secret question if you really want to.

Then next thing is, I don't have an address, I live at the shelter. Oh ok, go ahead. I don't remember my birthday, I had a head trauma, Oh Ok go ahead.

Sure. Why not? Anybody should be able to show up at the polls, no questions axed and pull a lever. Open the floodgates from Mexico for a day so they can vote as well. Hand out ballots at customs in all the major airports as well. What am I forgetting?

Oh yeah. My father was a democrat back when there were real democrats, not the socialist pigs they are now. Ho should be able to vote too, even though he passed away in 2008. I still have all his information, and I will swear that this is the way he would have voted.

Dead people are disenfranchised.

Sauk is open every 5th Wednesday. So 4 four times last year. And 7-5 m-f isn't easy for many people.

And Sauk city has a population of just over 3,000 people. Being open about 1 day each month would seem appropriate. There lines are probably shorter than the lines in metro Atlanta.

edit: not sure where you are getting 4 times last year. There are 52 weeks in a year (so that's 52 Wednesdays) / 5 = 10.4.

Considering every state has absentee balloting that can be done 100% through the mail and many have early voting, it's pretty damn accessible.

All right. I'm really beginning to get scared about who we are going to elect. I'm afraid it's going to be Trump. Then I look at all the other candidates and I'm afraid it's not going to be Trump.

My God what has our country become.

A reality show.

Good grief, his campaign isn't even denying they are using a Photoshop:

Cruz camp responds to Rubio Photoshop flap, brushes off criticism | Fox News

Sen. Ted Cruz’s national spokesman Rick Tyler doubled-down on Friday following accusations that the campaign Photoshopped an image of Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and President Obama.

“Every picture in a political campaign is Photoshopped,” Tyler told Fox News. “It is absolutely true.”

When pressed repeatedly by host Martha McCallum about why the campaign Photoshopped a picture of Rubio and Obama shaking hands in a picture on a website produced by the Cruz campaign, Tyler instead took aim at Rubio’s record.

“Marco Rubio and Barack Obama have shaken hands. There are plenty of photos of him shaking hands,” he said. “If they don’t like the picture we picked, then send me a picture they like of Marco Rubio shaking hands with Barack Obama and we’ll swap it out.”

And this kind of nonsense is why I won't vote for Cruz.
