2016 Election

Anyone who believes that the preservation of slavery was the primary intent of the 2nd Amendment is a simpleton. I'm sure it was just a secret conspiracy among the Founders, though. They sure did spend a lot of time and effort writing all those lies in the Federalist Papers and whatnot to cover up such a dirty secret, and I'm sure it had nothing to do with the context behind the revolution. This guy, though - he saw right through it.

Leave it to the loony left to equate yet another fundamental right with racism.

Can I have your record collection when you kick the bucket?

You should delve into mine as well.

Just picked up some Shocking Blue, Gary Newman, and X records today.

I have METZ's second record coming in on vinyl in the next week or so.

Depends on whether or not I engage in monogamy again.

If I don't, I won't live past 30. I'm wonderfully reckless when there's not some snatch to reel me in.

Hell, at a certain point that just makes you even more crazy than being single. Living with someone for years can drive a man to hard drugs...

Watched the last debate. Thought Rubio had a rough night, got attacked and had a poorly-worded (but correct) message, also Christie's attacks were pretty hollow when you look into them.

Kasich had a really really good night. I like him a lot. Unfortunately I don't think he's 'conservative' enough to get the nomination. He'll do well in NH though, might even finish second.

Militias were necessary at that time due to the very small federal military, hence the inclusion of the term militia in the 2nd Amendment. Essentially, the militia were acting a lot like our regular military does today. However, due to the size of the military since the civil war militias are no longer necessary and therefore the 2nd Anendment is essentially null and void. If the framers intended everyday people to have the unfettered right to possess firearms, then they would have said citizens instead of militia or just left the first part out altogether.

Let's be clear:

1) your interpretation of militia in terms of the 2nd amendment is wrong

2) even if the framer's had said citizens you'd still be looking for some reason to take away the 2nd amendment

You may have a point when looking at the first section of the amendment ""A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State". However there are two rights granted by the second amendment, 1 the right of the states to maintain a militia and 2 "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms". Neither shall be infringed.

I think he may beat Trump and shock the world. He's got a legit chance.

I hope Kasich gets enough momentum to stay until Super Tuesday, but I'm doubtful. He's the only one left I could vote for in good conscience.

He's gotten a lot better since the first debate. I thought he would fade into the background myself, but he keeps hanging on.

I wouldn't have a problem with him personally.
