2016 Election

Aren't you a Ted Cruz fan? I hate to tell you....but he supported the gang of 8 bill.

Cruz, May 21, 2013: "They would still be eligible for legal status and indeed, under the terms of the bill, they would be eligible for LPR [Lawful Permanent Resident] status as well so that they are out of the shadows, which the proponents of this bill repeatedly point to as their principal objective, to provide a legal status for those who are here illegally to be out of the shadows. This amendment would allow that to happen, but what it would do is remove the pathway to citizenship so that there are real consequences that respect the rule of law and that treat legal immigrants with the fairness and respect they deserve."

Cruz, May 21, 2013: "And a second point to those advocacy groups that are so passionately engaged. In my view if this committee rejects this amendment — and I think everyone here views it is quite likely this committee will choose to reject this amendment — in my view that decision will make it much much more likely that this entire bill will fail in the House of Representatives. I don’t want immigration reform to fail. I want immigration reform to pass. And so I would urge people of good faith on both sides of the aisle if the objective is to pass common sense immigration reform that secures the borders, that improves legal immigration and that allows those who are here illegally to come in out of the shadows, then we should look for areas of bipartisan agreement and compromise to come together. And this amendment, I believe if this amendment were to pass, the chances of this bill passing into law would increase dramatically. And so I would urge the committee to give it full consideration and to adopt the amendment."

Cruz, May 21, 2013: "Now I would suggest to all of those who passionately want to see this program fixed, that saying it’s all-or-nothing if there’s no path to citizenship, quote, there is no reform, tying immigration reform hostage to a path to citizenship is not a strategy to pass a bill. It’s a strategy to create partisan division. It’s a strategy that may well result in more political battles. But it’s not a strategy to fix the problem and so I would urge everyone on this committee to roll up our sleeves and fix the problem in a humane way that secures the border, gets serious about fixing that problem, that expands and improves legal immigration and that does not unfairly treat legal immigrants by removing a path to citizenship but allowing as this legislation does a legal status for those who are here illegally. That would be reform that a great many people across this country, both Republican and Democrat, would embrace and I would urge the committee to consider the amendment."

Asked in a Texas Tribune interview in 2013 if he worried that some might consider his proposal amnesty, Cruz said it was a compromise position. “I have said from the very beginning that I believe in compromise,”

No need for a wall. Build sniper towers and shoot tracking darts into anyone crossing. Problem solved.

That reminds me of my grandfather's brilliant and 100% serious idea to solve the illegal immigration problem: return them to Mexico over the Rio Grande by way of a cannon. I've yet to find anyone else in real life who thinks this is a good idea but I bet we'll get some takers on here.

I like the idea of a moat better.

Better yet, a 200 yard moat with crocodiles, piranhas and alligators with walls on BOTH sides. And with electric, razor wire fencing running across the top of the US side and another 400 yard fenced in area that contains lions, tigers, panthers, rabid badgers and angry brown bears. And those fences will be at least 30 feet high with razor wire running up the full length on the animal pen side.

With Mexico paying for all of it. In peso's.

And the most important part - Trump and Palin can make a reality show documenting the experience. It would be a massive hit. Skins, get this idea to the Trump braintrust immediately.

Not going to lie. I would watch the **** out of that. The entertainment... Would be endless.

I would like to get some recognition, but I know The Donald doesn't like to share. And with a selfless act, I'd give him all the credit.

Marco Rubio ran as a Tea Party candidate against Charlie Christ for a Florida Senate seat, and campaigned over and over again by attacking Senator John McCain's comprehensive amnesty legislation.

Rubio even declared that "a path to legalization is a code name for amnesty."

Establishment Republicans say Rubio "is so telegenic" and he's just changed his mind on Immigration.

And yet you ignore Ted Cruz's immigration flip flop

How about some fat white girls to lure them into the moat?

I have stated previously that Fox News is part of the establishment that wants the Trans Pacific Partnership and amnesty, and is backing Rubio, and downplaying Trump and Cruz. Now I find out that Fox News Vice Pres. Bill Sammon has a daughter named Brooke Sammon, who just happens to be the Press Secretary for Rubio.

Think that Fox might be making a big deal out of Rubio's 3rd place finish, and downplaying Trump's 2nd and Cruz's win? They also had a bunch of people in Frank Luntz's focus group who changed their support to Rubio after the last debate.

I learned all of that a week or so ago.

I was watching a news channel two or three years ago and a man was on there talking about Fox News. He said to look for Fox to turn Left for the most part part. He turned out to be prophetic.

Megan Kelly and Bill O'Reilly are feuding at Fox News and tensions are high. Kelly seems to rub some people the wrong way. Both Megan's and Bill's contracts are up next year.

Overall, they have taken a turn to the left in my opinion, except for Hannity and a couple of minor players. Some on air talent stays down the middle, without showing bias.

I don't even know if this was the thread where it was discussed, but as a Ron Paul supporter, campaign volunteer, etc, there's not a solitary chance in hell I vote for Marco Rubio.

I will show up in the general to vote for Rand Paul, Gary Johnson, and maybe John Kasich but that would be purely to "vote against" the democratic nominee and I loathe that voting mentality.
