2016 Election

Trump will garner democrat, black, the so-called independent voters, and people who don't trust Hillary.

You can discard all the junk about Trump's negatives, etc., (all of which was used to say that Trump would be out of the race already).
This is a phenomena that has never before been seen in presidential contests.

Trump will defeat Hillary by 5 points in the general election.

It's refreshing to see such an intelligent and reasonable answer on this board.

IDK what drugs you're on but there's not an African American in this country that will vote for Trump after the The Central Park Five incident comes to light. And I don't care what you say. Numbers matter and in this case the numbers aren't in his favor in a general election. You can't be -60% in the favorability column BEFORE the general election even starts and expect to Trump to win. The Democratic candidate starts out with 257 electoral vote from the start. Trump could win Florida and Ohio and still lose because he's going to lose Virginia. Trump hasn't campaign on any subject or issue of substance and that won't fly in the general election. Making stupid ignorant unintelligent comments on the campaign will not fly either.

There is one thing that stands out CRYSTAL CLEAR; everything the Trump enemies have said about him and his presidential campaign have been proven to be FALSE, having no validity whatsoever.

Hillary Clinton, the most crooked and untrusted politician in the United States, campaigning with the same stuff against Trump in a general election does not scare anyone.

And somehow people are going to magically trust Trump over Hillary?

You mean Trump isn't cozy with labor unions and is in favor of trade protectionist policies like tariffs?

Or that Trump has donated heavily to democrat politicians?

Or how he was once in favor of a wealth tax and he still hasn't ruled out the possibility of single payer health care in the US?

You're a sucker if you take him at his word today.

Who said there's not new oppo on Trump?? Trump has more poltical skeletons than a graveyard.

I'm a poltical science and International Studies major. I look at policy, break it down look at policy and number treads, study campaigns etc. 2016 was supposed to be the year that the Republican Party stopped being the party of "old selfish white people who only appeal to the to old white people." This was suppose to be the year that the party "Expanded its tent" to include a more diverse voter rolls. This was the year the Republican party had a chance to hold the Senate and the House and win the White House and actually implement major policy changes. Trump as the frontrunner has thrown every chance of holding the Senate into chaos, and will barely hold on the the House. Instead on taking 2 steps into the future the party has taken 10 steps back into the 20th century. Now instead of looking like a political party that had learned its lesson from the past it looks like a party that learned nothing. A party that was suppose to make a case for conservatism to a new generation of Americans can't do that. A party with the chance to set it plans out on how it would make life for the average American better can't do that now. The chance to set the country on a different course and direction is lost and thus cannot win the election with Trump as the nominee all because some people believe that being loud and angry with no proposed ideas to get anything done is the way to go.

They very well may. But to think it won't happen is ludacris. If, and that's a big if, It comes down to Hillary and Trump, Trump wins by a huge margin.

I don't see that. I think Hillary will carry a much larger percentage of her own party than trump can carry of his own party. I think she'd win easily

Guess we are going to find out.

But I disagree. Her party doesn't want a Clinton either.

Yes.

I know democrats that are going to vote for him.

He's not a Bush or a Clinton.

That may very well be. But it's no different than Republicans that crossed party lines to vote for Obama in 2008.

Trump is a novelty. But he doesn't have the draw or charisma Obama did.

We need an official VN presidential poll and see where it stands. I would do it, but I don't know how.

Between the two evils, which one will you vote for?

I know what I'm getting with Hillary - a third term of Obama. Trump has no cohesive policy positions given that he claims to be a reformed Democrat turned "conservative", but the common theme seems to be the increase of governmental power. Eminent domain, healthcare, banning Muslims, etc.

So I will not be voting for either.

If the American people vote for either, then they deserve everything they have coming to them.

One stands for nothing, floats where the political winds carry her, and should be in prison. The other stands for incoherent whining, floats where the political winds carry him, and should also probably be in prison somehow someway or another.
