He inherited a very good start, he build a dynasty.
Actually, he costs himself 10 billion by not simply investing in an index funds all the wealth his father gave him.
Instead he did it his way and lost money.
Which he parlayed into a multi billion dollar empire, why do liberals have such wealth envy? Are they compensating for other shortcomings?😳
99.9% of people would be richer if they Monday morning quarterbacked every financial decision they ever made.
An index fund captures the average return of the market. So to say 99.9% would do better than "average" sounds a bit strange. Especially when we are talking about someone who was a second (possibly third?) generation businessman with an economics degree. My expectations would be beyond "average".
When did I call it my preferred path? Plenty of people make great decisions by starting their own company. Others should've simply invested their wealth.

True but don't knock the guys who put their money on the line to start businesses. Takes a tad more balls to start a business than invest in a fund.
That is not the point. Donald evidently did not want to invest in stocks and do nothing. He wanted to becomes a businessman and he became one the best businessmen in America. He build an empire, that cannot be disputed.
Like I posted earlier in another thread we all have to carve out our niche in life. Donald did just that.
