Republicans discussed possibility of brokered convention - CNNPolitics.com
Now Carson is threatening to leave along with Trump if there is a move towards a brokered convention, to keep it in the hands of the establishment. This new rule -- that you have to win a majority in at least 8 states -- that's a fail safe for the party elite to take over the convention.
GOP death throes are getting worse.
And I'm insinuating there are crazy people in both parties capable of doing such a thing.
If the GOP does crash and burn, you may not like what rises out of the ashes.
I saw Cruz leading in one Iowa poll I believe. His numbers go up, they go down (usually up when he makes a controversial statement) Think about the next round to drop out, I believe most of those supporters will go to Cruz or Rubio
Carson: those attracted to the religious aspect will probably go to Cruz, those by the "outsider" stigma to Trump. Probably more Cruz.
Bush: mostly to Rubio (although I still have never met a Jeb supporter)
Fiorina: probably a pretty even split between Cruz/Trump/Rubio
Christie: the people who like the bulldog aspect will probably go Trump, but the moderates will go to Rubio.
Kasich: mostly Rubio
Paul: probably Cruz out of the three
Huckabee: Cruz
The others are all polling less than 1%.
I think Cruz stands to gain the most. I'm not a fan but Trump won't be able to tear him down like he did to Jeb - Cruz is too smart. A month ago I would have put money on Rubio, but Cruz really has captured a lot of support and Trump keeps getting stronger.
Of those, Cruz is the least attractive in the general, in my mind.
How is it a plus if the POTUS cannot work with the Senators in his own party?
With GOP senators not working to pass his policies, none will pass. Is that what you want, a president that can do nothing unless it be by EO.
It's just blind rage at the establishment without the realization that if you anger moderates AND Democrats, you have no chance to win a general election. Cruz is the perfect encapsulation of this - he's arrogant, intellectually haughty, and talks down to everyone. Sounds like what we have in the White House right now.
What has he said or done that makes you think he would be 10x worse than Obama?
Cruz is the perfect encapsulation of this - he's arrogant, intellectually haughty, and talks down to everyone. Sounds like what we have in the White House right now.
So his arrogance makes him 10x worse than Obama? There is a fine line between arrogant and confidant.
Imo, Cruz is 10x worse than Obama. I don't like his rhetoric. I don't like his actions in the Senate. He is also a one term senator, we have a one of those in the WH now, fo not need need another one.
You are as dense as a door knob.
I said he is 10x more arrogant than Obama imo.
I do not like Cruz. I do not like anything about him. IMO, he is as far out of touch on the right as Bernie Sanders is on the left. Both are loons imo.
