No, it's a surprise that an immigrant from Canada is getting support from the tea party which blasted Obama because he was born in Kenya. That's what surprises me the most, not that people are pissed.

Perhaps I am underestimating the hatred Americans have for Obamacare, because that is issue Cruz seems to have hitched his wagon to.

the Tea Party never adopted any such platform regarding Obama's citizenship. Sure, fringe elements within the TP did so, but there are communists in the democrat party but that doesn't mean the entire party is a bunch of Bolsheviks.

It's really hard to understand how some can equate not being in full agreement on every issue as being against them and therefore a progressive liberal tree hugging socialist.

Fear not though, the ones who do this aren't that bright to begin with and their opinions should mean little to nothing anyway... Like volnskins, that guy has explicitly stated he'd be voting for the (R) no matter what - that's just next level stupid. How can you expect him to distinguish differences in opinion with a political worldview?

Do you honestly expect me to vote Dem? Obamas signature legislation has hurt my family. You expect me to support anyone who is cool with it? I've got family & friends in the O&G industry. Do you honestly believe I'm going to vote for a party that wants to cripple that industry so they can score points with their party fringe? Do you honestly expect me to take a party seriously that is okay with 3rd trimester abortions?

Social conservatives take them seriously until they're born, then they work very hard to destroy social welfare programs designed to keep many of those babies clothed and fed.

Some of their highest members and donors have publicly proclaimed their 'curiosity' regarding Obama's citizenship. Whether the Tea Party officially recognizes them or not, they matter in the dialogue that the Tea Party is ultimately trying to convey.

Is there a gray area on the Keystone Pipeline? Because you can add that to my list of "single issues". It's a very "me 1st" issue wanting more commodities shipped safely through our country
