Because it works?
It didn't work this time.
Wounded Warrior Project accused of wasting donation money - CBS News
Because it works?
Meaning: he like Rhodes who weren't captured "also"
Be captured does not make one more of a hero than one who wasn't captured.
Sure. But that's not what he said. He didn't say "being captured doesn't make you a hero". Although that was also inferred from his second sentence.
He clearly said "I like people who weren't captured". It's dishonest to claim his intent was anything than to say he doesn't like POWs given the context and that he was talking specifically about former POW John McCain.
Because that's one of his biggest charities, you have a problem with the military too? I thought you were the self-proclaimed trump expert..
That's why I said I believe he misspoke.
And then he didn't bother to correct himself during the interview?
Because he's clearly talking about how he doesn't like McCain. How he doesn't believe McCain is a hero. And then he ends it with "I like people who weren't captured". And doesn't try to correct his statement.
It seems to fit well with everything else he was saying at the time.
Because I know the last veteran charity you should donate to is wounded warriors. A guy in my platoons back was blown out in Afghanistan in an IED blast and they turned him down.
I just feel like most of you would literally try to justify anything trump says. He could come out tomorrow and say that he supports euthanizing the mentally ill, and everyone would say:
He misspoke! He meant to say "institutionalize"
So your evidence is anecdotal? I'm sure there's more to the story than you're letting on. How much do you donate to veterans charities? Trump is extreme generous..
He blew his back out in the IED blast in 2007 he wasn't medically discharged from the Army until 2015. Between 2008 and 2015 the VA basically screwed him over by by slow rolling his disability and in 2014 he reached out to Wounded Warriors and they flat out never got back in touch with him. His wife ended up doing a gofundme for him.
All the more reason for Trump, he's vowed to straighten out the VA and I believe he will, Obozo was briefed by GW prior to his coronation and he's failed miserably, I'm sorry to hear about your buddy, that was ****ty on the va's part.

I wonder how these programs were before 2008?
I don't know anyone who uses them.
That doesn't sound right.
Not calling you a liar, but it doesn't take seven years to medically separate someone. I've seen them slow roll it to get someone past the ten year point to get a medical retirement, but never based on waiting that long for the disability itself. Not unless there were other significant mitigating factors like surgeries or rehab. But even then not for seven years.
You sure there wasn't something else going on?
The VA was trying to make him pay for surgeries to his back that he has received after he came back stateside. Then arthritis in my spine and knees set in and they found more nerve damage. The VA didn't want to pay for the treatment of the arthritis and nerve damage which delayed his medical discharge. It got so bad that Senator Corker and Marsha Blackburn got involved.
