2016 Election Thread Part Deux

That's always been my issue with the Libertarian ticket.... they're not Libertarians.

Abolish the IRS
Eliminate the department of education
Legalize marijuana
Criminal Justice Reform
Make work visas easier to obtain
Stop overthrowing foreign regimes
opposes almost all gun control

That all sounds pretty libertarian to me. He's 100x more libertarian than trump is republican or conservative.

they have as lot of stances that I agree with. But I'm also old enough to remember Weld as Governor of Massachusetts and remember how far left he tended to be. And there's also his endorsement of Barrack Obama which made no sense.

That's my problem with the Libertarian Party. If they believed in their platform, what they supposedly stand for they wouldn't nominate candidates who don't.

Been watching 538 over the last few days. They still predict a Clinton victory with about a 2/3s to 1/3s chance of occurring. That is down from 88% chance 2 weeks ago.

Of interest is the flip in a couple key states - yesterday FL was .1% margin to D; today it is the same margin to R. Same result for NC. Other states are moving closer to even odds.

Money is still on Clinton but this thing is closing faster than people thought.

Their averages have about a 294 - 244 Clinton win. RCP has 273-265.

Of course given the craziness of this election and cross-over voting who knows what will happen.

I think the big problem is that they're a national movement that's latched onto disenchanted Republicans as candidates. I think they could stick to principles and gain more traction at the Congressional or state level and work upward.
