2016 Election Thread Part Deux

I said that Trump is the least transparent candidate in modern history, perhaps ever, and that is a fact, not opinion.

About Clinton, I said nothing in that post, but, to placate you, yes, she is just as corrupt as Trump. She's just not a blathering idiot though, who is most likely clinically insane.

No, first paragraph goes to Obama.

You're saying Hill is better than Trump. I'm trying to figure out why you think that is.

I just told you. She's not a blathering idiot who is most likely clinically insane.

Are you this dense? Arguing with you is like arguing with a barn door.

Clinton is stable mentally?

All she does is lie.

You're hilarious this evening.

This is no argument. It's simply me pointing and laughing at you.

Yes, Clinton is mentally stable. She's a pathological liar for the purpose of enriching her own pockets, but she is mentally stable.

Great presidential quality.

No one's claiming it is.

Her opponent, however, is a pathological liar for the purposes of enriching his pockets who is most likely not mentally stable.

I will be voting for neither, largely because being a registered voter in the State of California saves me from having to do so, but I would not hesitate for one moment to vote for her over Trump if a gun was held to my head.

The best possible outcome now, besides both candidates either suspending their campaigns or immediately resigning after inauguration is for Hillary to win, serve only four years of her term (if even that), and allow the Republican Party to come up with a viable alternative in 2020.

Sadly, given how the Republican base responded to Obama's reelection, I'm unconvinced Republicans will. I think Republican primary voters are more likely to respond with a Nazi, a literal Nazi, as our nominee in 2020 than they are to pick a sane, professional, and moderate candidate that Americans can actually elect out of true support.

Obozo gonna chain himself to Trumps desk? He doesn't have to leave the WH, I'm sure the landscaping crew needs help.

Work??!! (In the best Maynard G. Krebs voice) Oh, the angry black woman would see it as a racist offer - that's for illegals.

An oil pipeline isn't a nineteenth-century rail line. It isn't going to supply endless jobs and economic growth. It isn't going to significantly invigorate towns directly situated next to it, unlike nineteenth-century rail towns.

It will create quite a few temporary jobs, which isn't a bad thing, while it's being built but will then only need maintenance. It won't even require the maintenance of a rail line. At that point, very few will be employed in a "pipeline" job.

It is not en economic panacea, as some of portrayed it. Pipelines aren't the twenty-first century version of the railroad.

But, as I said, build the one from North Dakota. I'm not anti-pipeline. Let's pause to think about this though before we make a move that's going to use American land to primarily enrich Canadian coffers.

You are so out of touch with reality.

How did claiming landing amidst sniper fire, and having to run for cover, enrich her pockets exactly. She is a pathological liar... period. Although your secondary clause is also correct as a standalone point... she will do pretty much anything to enrich her own pockets.

No, you're worse. You actually think you are informed and smart.

You'll have to forgive me, but it's just a little difficult to take a partisan hack who masquerades around here as some sort of open-minded thinker seriously when he makes a completely unsubstantiated claim that Democrats hate America and seek to enrich foreign countries by denying the Keystone Pipeline when the biggest advantage to that pipeline goes to...you guessed it, a foreign country named "Canada." Although we like to think of it as the 51st State, which it practically is in terms of the geographical benefits it gains from being next to us, it is still, believe it or not, a foreign country.

As I said, build your pipeline from North Dakota. Environmental factors are the least of my concern. I want the best deal for America, and padding Canada's coffers for more of its entitlement programs while my own nation's public funds go dry, is not it.

We need to be focusing on transitioning our LNG exports to Europe and in marketing our own oil with our own pipelines. I couldn't give a damn about Canada's pipeline.

I'm convinced at this point that I could post that Obama is a Marxist who hates America, and some of you would still find some fault to pick apart. "Well, volprof, why didn't you also accuse him of being the murderer he is as well! You libtard!"

Anyhow, my post had nothing to do with Benghazi. I was speaking of her lying in general.

Congratulations for another word salad which further confirms your real world ignorance.

Where did I misconstrue your comments?

You said Democrats want to serve foreign interests and so they want to invest in European oil interests. Your solution to this was investing in a Canadian oil interest. I said that we can build the pipeline from North Dakota, which will accomplish most of what you claim the Keystone will but without using American land for Canadian enrichment.

Is it that I don't see pipelines as economic cure-alls, which they aren't?

...and people like him are allowed to teach our kids. Very scary.

Any student that went through one of my courses is a better scholar for having done so. If I succeeded, it means s/he now looks at the world on its own terms instead of through the hackery that passes for "objective discourse" on this site.

And I know you're an Orange Jesus True Believer, so you work in cliches like some men work in machine parts, metals, or mortars, but could you one day offer us at least one original thought?

Before you're done posting here, whenever that final post comes, I want you to give us one original thought. That is my task for you.

You lost me at your first ridiculous sentence.

That's why he's shuffling boxes for a freight company..

No, Trumper. I said "supervising." Reading is difficult for fifth century BC men, like yourself, but that's what it is.

And, to be quite frank with you, I'm currently inquiring with the military about joining OTS.

I see the way that you and others are leading this country, and I do not like it. In fact, this election - fueled by wretched idealogues like yourself - has made me feel so powerless that I've seriously been weakened as a human being. But not for long. If serving my nation's military is the one thing I can do to better this country and to gain some semblance of "control," then I will.

I may not do it, because I have other obligations at the moment, but it is currently in the works.

If there is anything I can do to keep idiots like you from ruining this country you had better be sure I'm going to do it.

The Trump campaign has convinced me of this, and for that, I congratulate you.

I registered Republican here in California. That due to the way I see our national demographics going (going Democrat) because I value dissent and that due to the fact that I do sincerely value many conservative principles (none of which Trump champions).

Trump did indeed inspire me to become Republican, but that only to ensure that an absolute imbecile like him never becomes the nominee of our party ever again.

I began this election cycle as Kasich supporter last October. I don't share a lot in common with Kasich, not the least of which him claiming that atheists like myself are basically un-human and un-American, but I thought him best out of sheer pragmatism. As a man-to-man human being, I found him a bit of a wretch, but he was still the best I saw as a leader of the nation.

The thing that I think many of you don't quite understand is that I want so desperately to vote Republican and conservative. It's just that Republican primary voters do not offer me any real options.

If we could get out of our current "values" frame of mind, I would go full Repub. But, as Fareed Zakaria wrote this week, that isn't likely to happen anytime soon. We have become a nation of identity and values voters.
