2016 Election Thread Part Deux

There is absolutely nothing conservative about the free market and smaller government. That's some post-1950 Republican Party nonsense.

And, yes, the free market is magical thinking, akin to communist utopias. They both have good intentions and some positive thoughts on society, but neither is actually sustainable in real life. The two are actually two sides of the same coin. Communism is the tyranny of authoritarianism, while libertarianism is the tyranny of freedom. Both are well-intentioned originally but will lead to overwhelming violence and injustice in practice.

I suppose a limited libertarianism could work just fine, but libertarians are just like anyone else: they'll eventually just want more.

Nothing you just said makes any sense. Tyranny of freedom? You realize that's an oxymoron, right? Freedom is the opposite of tyranny.

Free market capitalism is the complete opposite of violence. What's violent is government. Government restricts freedoms through force. That's violent.

Free market capitalism is honestly a myth, as it can never exist in real life, as humans are greedy, irrational beings who care not for your enlightened picture of human societies (or collectives). So, in a sense, perhaps I'm being unfair to free market capitalism.

Yes, the tyranny of freedom. And the fact that it is an oxymoron, a paradox, a contradiction, or any other term at odds with itself, is its beauty. Completely free individuals and societies will turn against themselves quicker than many normally law-abiding citizen will knock over a convenience store if they know they can get away with it. Half of humans will behave, while the other half will irrationally try to have more. They don't believe in libertarian co-ops.

Humans being greedy doesn't prohibit free markets from working. It's what drives them.

Even so, you're taking this to the most extreme and saying "see it would fail!". Even if you believe in some form of government, free markets still work. The more free the better. Most of us would agree on some small forms of regulation (no drugs under 18, don't harm others, etc)

My point is that the Republican Party is currently going to the opposite extreme. Away from free markets and moving closer and closer to true facism.

The fact is Greed is good. You should always want what's best for you and those you care about. The key is living your life and no one thinking you are greedy.

The last I checked I thought tampering with evidence was a crime.

How is this not a major discussion on all the news networks? And yes I realize the media is heavily biased toward Hillary, but this would seem quite obvious that she is guilty of a crime (assuming of course that they can attach the deleted emails to her or her instruction vs someone else taking the hit for her and admitting they did it by mistake).
