2016 Election Thread Part Deux

I'm on city water. I can't even take a free sh!t.

The city hasn't gotten us yet, and the county missed us barely with their sewer system. I've got a septic system that probably would cost no more to redo than the initial sewer hookup and maybe a year or two of sewer fees. Needing room for field lines to perk means developers can't squeeze more lots into a development - and the water goes back into the ground instead of down a river. No complaints about the fiber-optic cable and internet or the fire protection and garbage service that I pay a lot less for than a municipality would charge in taxes, so you can bet I'm all in for any annexation prevention and de-annexation bill that comes along. The less government the better.

I don't want to pay those extra taxes for free junk.. I'm a troll because i think Hillary is the best option, flaws and all. She says she's going to get her First mate to help her out with the economy, and I like that idea.

I don't know if Huma can fix the economy.

people that don't have and want to ever have a job. now if you work and are worth a s*** then yeah.. don't vote for him but if you aren't.. then yeah.. vote for him.

Now that is the most intelligent thing you've ever posted. You just needed a little help.

"Actually in a socialist society it doesn't just offer handouts. Sure they have more social programs but no more than do Scandinavian countries. The main aim is to influence the proletariat to take the means of production from the bourgeoisie. Basically in a capitalist structure, the factory worker sells his labor to a factory owner to make a thing, the factory owner then compensates the worker for a wage which is not equal to the price of the thing he made. This is excess capital, or profit, the factory owner makes money off the excess labor, where as the worker becomes a wage slave working fro a set income.
In a socialist structure the factory worker makes a thing with other factory workers, they distribute it and spread the wealth acquired evenly among themselves for the work they put into making a thing. However if someone is not pulling their weight the collective of the factory can fire them and hire someone else. A common misconception is that in Socialism there is no free market when in fact there is, it is just kept on a tight leash, so if a career field is more in demand then they can make more money."
It's to make it so the workers make all of the money from whatever they produce.

You guys keep voting against your own interests... it's been working out for you for so long now.

You really think that - that any politician is out to do something for your interests? I'd love to see what's in the "Panama Papers" regarding the US. Dennis Hastert was found guilty of avoiding bank laws to pay a bribe; he improperly withdrew money from his own account. The amazing part is that nobody questioned a system in which a long time Congressman can amass that kind of wealth - even if we presume the bulk came as a lobbyist. It's simply another example of the dishonesty and corruption in our political system - he most certainly wasn't lobbying for your benefit or for mine. The Clintons live it; and in the unlikely instance that any of the remaining candidates don't, not one is pressing for reform.

Yep, and it's always worked so well for the practitioners. Just ask all those fun loving people in N Korea and Cuba - and the ex-inmates all across eastern Europe.

I gave him the link where his words come from. I expect a picture in return.

The West is in much better shape than the rest of the world because we adopted a nice balance between capitalism and socialism.

We saw "capitalism" in the nineteenth-century. America and the West in general were ****holes and on the fast track to revolution. Luckily, we avoided that communist revolution here by adopting smart socialist policies to counter the vast inequalities naturally created by unfettered capitalism.

I don't know what's so hard to understand about this. Socialism is not in-itself a bad thing. In fact, the best thing that ever happened to capitalism was socialism, as it has largely allowed capitalism to keep functioning these past couple of centuries instead of people revolting all over the West and seeking answers in far less desirable ways.

What do you mean by inequalities?

On Megyn Kelly, they just broke down the remaining delegates and Trump came up 46 short with their predictions going into the convention.

This could get interesting.

What do you mean by inequalities?

With the exception of royalty, nobility, and the religious elite Western (and all) societies were largely all equal in terms of class structure until roughly the 18th Century.

I'll give you two guesses to determine what development occurred in that time frame, and one of them doesn't count.

So you're not sure what you're talking about.

Do you believe in only end result equality where everyone has the same no matter what or equal work/effort equal outcome?

Off the socialism thing for a minute... All hell is going to break lose if Trump gets that close and they don't give it to him.
