Most people don't think of the word 'scorer' as having anything to do with efficiency. If they did, guys like Artis Gilmore would be more well known.
I guess I don't really get what your point is. Your original underlying point seemed to be that stats didn't convince me of anything people didn't already know about Kobe. I differ in that I think you can't evaluate scoring ability without heavily weighing efficiency.
I guess I hung out with different people. After seeing Kobe billed as the next Jordan, I followed his career and knew by watching him that he was a chucker. He did an excellent MJ impression as far as how he moved, and his mannerisms, but I was never impressed with his shot selection.
IMO, he basically has the same shot selection as MJ, but MJ was just really good at taking bad shots. Kobe is/was far better than most, but not good enough to try to take the shots Jordan took.
Durant seems to be really good at taking bad shots. Only a few guys are good enough at it that you want them to do it on the reg.

Honest question, are you defining bad shots as mid range shots or just by watching them?
I think you forget how incredibly athletic young Kobe was.
I wish I knew what his rim finish percentage was.
I disagree about the athletic part. I think he was just too stubborn to change for the betterment of his team.
I don't think it's about stubbornness, I think it's about physical limitations. And I'm not talking about explosiveness. To have the motor to go as hard as MJ did on D and then attack the rim the way he did on O...it's insane. Kobe can look the part in every way, but I think MJ's pace was the biggest difference.
Lebron can go about as hard as Kobe, shoots less, passes more, and he's got other physical attributes that put him more on MJ's level. Kobe has probably 0 physical attributes that give him an edge over MJ.
