2014 Damn NBA Playoffs Thread

Did he really even need to make the statement? It was a second round game, so obviously McGrady had no points or rebounds.

I honestly don't see the harm. He's a fan. He attempted to make a joke about a ghastly performance from a player like all of us do. It's not like he personally insulted him

If Grant Hill had better ankles, T-Mac better knees, management not trade him after drafting Howard, and Yao Ming didn't have bad feet, McGrady's career would be talked about a lot differently. He was somewhat overrated during his prime, but he had some awful luck.

I think McGrady is overrated as a scorer but overall he's probably slightly underrated. He had some really bad luck with teams, etc. He was a break-even scorer, but his defense, ball-handling, and rebounding was great. He was probably the best 2 in the NBA a few years (2003 for sure).

I vaguely recall Milo being sad when Portland didn't sign Hibbert. Maybe I have it backwards. We know how he probably feels now. R Lopez is a beast.

Lopez has played really good, the Blazers have a great starting 5. Maybe the best top to bottom in the league. IMO

Durant talked about the doubters. Who doubted Durant? Damn 7 footer that dribbles like a guard and has range to the hash and people doubted him?

You said the MVP should be the best player in the league.

Right. Regular season MVP is the best player during the regular season. Durant was the best overall player during the season.

Currently? The last 6 weeks or so of the season and the playoffs...? I'd say Lebron has outplayed him and Lebron has been the best player of the last 4 years, so when you ask me who the current best player is, my response is Lebron.

When he could only bench 185 before being drafted, a lot of people doubted him.

I don't remember doubting him, but I remember mocking his bench and people freaked the **** out in his defense. He's had more slurpers than haters since day 1.

I remember a lot of people saying he was too weak and soft.

I remember that. It was stupid because he wasn't going to play the 4. I understand the defensive concerns, but length and athleticism can compensate, and he's turned out to be a very good defender.
