2014 Damn NBA Playoffs Thread

Considering they kept mentioning it, yes.

Right, but hearing them say it is the same thing as looking at the box score. It was a quiet 32. It's likely that most spectators would underestimate his scoring total if it weren't told to them throughout the game.

Unless you weren't watching when he hit 8 3's. Or unless you just suck at math.

So we have to know exact stats to know if a performance is all time great? I'm not sure how hitting 8 threes is a quiet 32.

Who do I pull for? Clippers, Portland, Miami, and the bullets, I guess.

Clippers because I want a big dumb entertaining basketball game.

Nobody said that. But I am willing to bet most people watching that game without graphics and commentators would have come away thinking he had a really good night. 25 and 10, or so. It only becomes all-time great when you realize he shot 12 for 14 and hit 8 3s. I don't think anybody watching would say, "he only missed 2 shots and 10 were3s", they would say, "he was on fire". Cool, 25 and 10 and he was on fire? All-time great?

Try watching a game tonight without listening to the commentators or paying attention to the graphics and then at the end of the game guess how many points and shots each starter had and compare it to the box score.

Ben said his eyes told him it was an all time great performance, you responded oh you knew he was 32 on 14 shots. Like he couldn't know he watched a great performance without knowing exact stats. I like stats, but I don't need them to know if I'm watching greatness or a terrible performance for that matter. Maybe you need stats to judge it, but not everyone does.

I enjoy watching basketball, so I'm not going to mute my tv and count shots and points. Could i mute it and tell you who played good and who played bad? Absolutely. Will I look ata box score and see who had a good/bad line? AAbsolutely. But I will do so already knowing who played poorly and who played well. 32 on 8 3's is not a quiet 32. 8 threes is pretty damn loud.

This kind of inference is the reason we get into arguments that go nowhere. I didn't imply that. You inferred it. Ben could realize it was an all-time great performance without stats, but it's likely most people wouldn't. I was just asking honest questions.

I think you can realize it's an all-time great performance, but I would also say you have no way of ranking it without the stats. Saying he was +18 in points over par allows you to compare it to other all-time great performances. Otherwise the argument just comes down to who was perceived to be more on fire.

Anyway here's to hoping the Blazers wax the Spurs. Screw the other series as i loathe both teams.

I'm looking forward to the heat/nets series. The heat need to beat the nets tonight and get the proverbial monkey off their back.

Heat over nets in 7
Trailblazers over spurs in 6

Go trailblazers bulldoze the damn spurs.
Or blaze a trail easily past them exposing their damn lack of speed.
Also Bayless talk about another damn disappointment.

I am astounded that there was some guy I think on first take that said heat are going to sweep the Nets. Its not like the heat are playing another sorry ass bucks team. The nets have a lot of weapons more than last season, and would need to be the garbage nets for the heat to sweep.
And I mean the garbage team that didn't freakin resemble a playoff team at all, and most of their plays were shaqin a fool worthy. Or 80s wretched clippers esque.

8-8 3 pointers (until he finally missed) added up pretty quick.

And in response to the ridicule by arenas of hibbert Kornhiser says shut up as the last image of him was a unpalatable one and it took the wizards five years to get out of the damn abyss.
Also Mcgrady when he was a major player the teams he played for never got past the first round.

So we have Lebron vs Garnett. Who do people hate more??

Since Garnett has a infamous incident I would say him maybe slightly more.
This in reference to the use of word which can only be used in a bad or negative way which is cancer. Also Garnett has more titles.

I think people have a hard time hating Lebron because when he wore the black hat he failed.
If there is any hate it's mostly his bachelor esque style for saying he's going to the heat.

KG **** that fake tough guy, he's a damn embarrassment to real tough guys like that damn Steve Smith. I once saw Steve Smith beat up 4 bears and 2 lions. King of the jungle my ***, they are a damn embarrassment to kings everywhere. I say off with his damn head.
