Cargo is a better OF than Heyward. :good!:

Defensively? No. The last three years Cargo has been below average defensively according to UZR. Usually you have to take UZR in three year samples. I still think Cargo is above average but he's not anywhere near Heyward's level.

Remember when they said the same thing about Matt Holiday?

Yes I do. But Cargo isn't Holliday. I don't know if Cargo can produce those same numbers. I doubt he slugs .422 over 162 games, but I can't trust that he'll be a .500 slugger.

Also, Holliday's last three years in Colorado: .329/.400/.579

Holliday's last three years in St. Louis: .302/.385/.517

So he's still damn good, but he's not a top three hitter like he was in Colorado. Granted, there could be other reasons for that.

I was giving you some leeway because he can flat rake and probably belongs on one of these teams, but now you've just lost your damn mind.

UZR doesn't impress me as much I guess. I'd take Trout as the one of the best OF in the game but his UZR ranked behind old ass Ichiro, Josh Reddick, Craig Gentry, etc.

Holliday away from coors in 2007:

.301/.374/.485 vs .356/.435/.722 at home.

122 wRC+ on the road vs 178 at home.

CarGo career on the road has a wrc+ of 85

And for lulz, Heywards career AVG is .261. Barely average.

I don't care about batting average very much. What his career OBP? .352, plus I'm getting the best defensive corner OF in the game. That's highly valuable. Heyward was a top 12 player in the game last year.

Also, 2011 he was hurt all year. He's around .273 if you take out 2011.

I don't care much for defensive metrics. I have eyes. Heyward is a better outfielder than cargo. Substantially.

Can be some weird factors for it, though. Reddick's arm may be a huge plus in his UZR. Ichiro is playing in a small OF so he may cover all the ground there. It isn't like UZR makes Trout bad and Ichiro good. It's '11.4' vs '13.5'... idk how much of a difference that makes in the grand scheme of things comparing a CF to a RF.

And it isn't even because CarGo is a slouch. Heyward is awesome out there.

I don't on a yearly basis. I usually go with what the last three years say when it comes to UZR.

Also, I've watched both. Cargo is pretty good in the OF, but I'd rather have Heyward easily.

So can you admit you're taking Heyward mostly for defense but somehow contradict yourself at the same time by taking Zobrist over Phillips?

Instead of studying for my mid term, I'm looking up Carlos Gonzalez's fangraphs and baseball reference pages.

I love sports dammit.

If we went one more round CarGo would probably be picked. But I could certainly not pick him, even pick someone else, and still be fine with my team

CarGo likely isn't the best player that went un-picked.

Zobirst is a pretty good defensive second baseman himself. Phillips is better defensively, but I get 40 points higher on OBP and almost 50 with slugging. If Cargo had the same career line at away, it'd be Cargo.

CF Trout
SS Reyes
LF McCutchen
DH Fielder
1B Cabrera
C Posey
RF Heyward
3B Wright
2B Zobrist

UTIL Pedroia

Bryce - CF
Braun - LF
Votto - 1B
Giancarlo - RF
Holliday - DH
Cano - 2B
Tulowitzki - SS
Beltre - 3B
Molina - C

UTIL - Longoria

also, Z, you are a man short haha. I know Heyward and Cutch are good out there but you might want Trout in there somewhere.

LULZ, I'm a dumbass.

That lineup is good 005

I was really dying for Posey because he's the easier choice. Choosing between Mauer and Molina is tough but I figure controlling trout/reyes/cutch in the run game is important. I only have two guys that are a threat to steal and even they aren't true burners.

I'd take Molina over Mauer at this point in their careers. Three years go? No damn way.

I could make the lineup better L/R if I had Mauer, but I'm okay with it. I'll start pitchers if you're game. idk how many we should do.
