Neither of us took Matt Cain. We are damned idiots.

Weaver has me worried. When I took Sale, I wrestled with him/cliff/hamels for a long time.

re: Weaver

Weaver Ks/9 over the past three seasons:

2010: 9.35

2011: 7.56

2012: 6.77

Weaver xFIPs over the past three seasons:

2012: 3.32

2011: 3.80

2012: 4.18

Weaver’s average fastball velocity has dropped from 90 mph in 2010 to 88 mph in 2012. His SwingingStrike% has dropped from 11.2% in 2010 to 8.5% in 2012. He suffered an injury last season, his first season under 200 innings since 2008. It calms the mind somewhat to think about 2010 simply as the peak year of his career, leaving room for inevitable regression. The ballpark is still great for him, and a brilliant defensive outfield of Trout/Bourjos/Hamilton will certainly help a pitcher like Weaver, whose flyball percentage of 46.7% is the 4th highest in baseball over the last three seasons. But there is reason for worry.

Fastball velocity really jumps out at you, never realized he was down that low to be honest. I guess his motion/delivery must play a huge role in his success, but you're right, that isn't very encouraging info.

the angels rotation is iffffffy.

volinthaatl/iona, who did we leave out and who won bro bro

My notable snubbs (not that I would have an easy time replacing any of your picks)

OF - Josh Hamilton, Matt Kemp, Jose Bautista
IF - Kinsler
P's - King Felix, Gio, Bumgarner

Personal Homer/Fan Pick - Cespedes (man crush if you will)

I like Z's pitching and lineup, but 005's defense (INF) and intangibles haha I could see Braun, Cano and Molina carrying that team with those power arms. All comes down to how 005's lefties hit Z's pitching IMO. But I gotta go with Z and his starting rotation in a 7 game series, those 4 are ridiculous, can't bet against them.

Kemp was my best guy that didn't make it pick. I could be better off with Felix over my other two righty starters. If darvish/scherzer are on, they're just fine. A long reliever like Samardzija can take over if they falter.

The lineups are pretty close. I like mine a bit more but any difference is tough to pick.

I thought about Cespedes but i dunno how great he is in center and as an iffy defensive OF he would have just been a lesser version of Holliday for me. Love the guy though.

I'd assume you would have taken a starter and put Sale in the bullpen. That was my plan.

King Felix out is shocking.

He's got the better lineup. I got the better pitching.

IMO.

sale in the bullpen + felix in the rotation would work fine, but I don't like my only two long-guys in the pen being LHP against that lineup.

We could have gone further, I would have gotten Motte/Marshall in my bullpen, added Cain to be the long guy, or something of that nature.

Yea the more I look over the lineups, they are both insane. I am just having a hard time with the order on yours 005. Z's to me is a little more complete as far as defined roles if that makes any sense.

I think it could work to maybe even lead off with Votto. High OBP, would take a walk etc. I think Molina could potentially be a great 2 hitter in this lineup (if he wasn't slow as dirt), punch one the other way etc.

Harper should be a switch hitter imo, would make it much more clear cut haha

Votto - L
Beltre - R
Braun - R
Cano - L
Stanton - R
Harper - L
Holliday - R
Tulo - R
Molina - R

I'm an absolute sucker for the L/R/L/R.

Also I realized there are not as many great LH batters as I thought.
