"Nate Andrews, three-star wide receiver from Fairhope High School in Ala., was offered today by Tennessee. Coach Tommy Thigpen and coach John Jancek attended the Alabama/Mississippi All-Star Classic. They offered Andrews after the game.
Andrews is currently committed to Minnesota. He committed last week. I think this offer definitely opens the door for the Volunteers. Andrews is one of the most underrated players in the state. He certainly proved that this week at practice and in the game. He played on both sides of the ball at receiver and safety. I assume Tennessee offered him as a safety.
Andrews is 6-foot, 195-pounds. He isn't the fastest player on the field. He just simply makes plays. He is the definition of a football player. A coach can plug him in just about anywhere and he is going to be successful. The first day they moved him to receiver he matched up against new Alabama commitment Jonathan Cook and won the 1-on-1 battle. He's just a gamer.
This is definitely an offer I like from Tennessee. I expected Andrews to have more offers than he does. This may open the door for others, but it also may lure him to Knoxville."
