Anybody not in the SEC is a win and don't start with Cincinnati they aren't any good this year and will not be any better next year. So there is 4 wins, add 2 more for Vandy and Kentucky. Florida will still be bad offensively again next year but the defense will still be good. Georgia depends on if some of the juniors stay or not if they will be worth worrying about. LSU will be the same but we get them at home this time. Alabama is going to be mad that they didn't repeat so look out for this one. South Carolina isn't going to be any better than they are this year or have been any of the previous years under Spurrier the east is down so they look better. Lastly Arkansas, if they lose alot of their offense then that will be a win also cause their defense is not that good. So you have 6 wins with 2 probable wins (South Carolina and Arkansas). So you get 8 wins there probable losses to Georgia and Florida (could split these two). 2 for sure losses with LSU and Alabama. You can say I am drinking the Kool-Aid or not just my opinion 8-4 is not to much to ask for out of this bunch of kids. Oh yeah and will probably get the Gator bowl in Jacksonville, FL next year.

Laugh if you want but I wouldn't necessarily pencil that Montana game in as a win. They are a very very good FCS school and are sniffing the FCS championship every year. The way we are looking, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw an upset much like the way Appy State upset Michigan.

That same Michigan team beat Florida to end the season and played in the Rose Bowl to end the previous year. If Montana beats UT then it will be more along the lines of JSU beating Ole Miss. It will make headlines and no one will care in about a month besides UT fans.

while it's certainly hard to replace someone who will be as highly drafted as ryan mallet, i would work under the assumption that bobby petrino will put an offense that can put up points on the field. he's too good of an offensive coach.

8-4 is my early optimistic guess. @FL, and @ Bama are too tough. SC is going to be even better next year, and we haven't really ever played well at ARK.

I think we come out of the bye and pick up two big wins back to back over Georgia and LSU though.

We gotta win Arkansas... my mom and dad won't let me live it down if we don't... (mom works as a math instructor/ dept public relations manager there...)

Montana - W(although, I don't discount a really good game from the Grizzlies)
Cincinnati - W(Cincy will be a good first real test for us, but that's a win if everyone does what they're supposed to do)
@Florida - L(Sucks, I know)
Buffalo - W(Almost a guarantee)
Georgia - L(They'll compete better than they did last year, but I still think it's a loss.
LSU - W(My upset prediction)
@Alabama - L(I hate losing to Bama)
South Carolina - W(I think this a close game, but an ultimate victory)
Middle Tennessee - W(Guarantee)
@Arkansas - L(I just see Arkansas giving us fits)
Vanderbilt - W(It's Vandy)
@Kentucky - W(If Kentucky doesn't beat us this year, they'll struggle to break the streak for a long time afterwards)

Projection - 8-4(4-4)

Might be aiming a bit high here, considering our team won't be a whole lot better. But, our out of conference schedule favors us a ton, and there will be some teams down next year.

Could finish as low as 5-7, 6-6. Could finish 9-3 as well.

I think we will be significantly better. Into our second year of a regime so no more first year coaching woes. Experienced starters across the o-line with another off-seasoning conditioning program. More than 1 SEC caliber DT (expecting Hughes, Couch Walls). Very talented QB and WRs. Still have Poole at RB, J Jackson at FS and Lathers (who is really coming on) at LB.

I'm not saying we will be great.. but can't see how we won't be noticeably better.

I think our team will be exponentially better next year. That being said, that does not mean we finish better than 7-5 next year.

So...might as well start now...looking to next year, what do you guys think?

Montana
Cincinnati
@Florida
Buffalo
Georgia
LSU
@Alabama
South Carolina
Middle Tennessee
@Arkansas
Vanderbilt
@Kentucky

...I think at worst 7-5, at best 9-3.

I am glad to see we are playing MTSU. I am actually worried about Montana. They are a good FCS school who is used to winning. We should win, but those are the dangerous ones.

I expect to win 7. If Bray is as special as he appears right now, we could win 9.

8-4.

I could, however, see us picking up one against either Florida or LSU. Maybe even Bama if Saban is no longer their.

I'd say 7-5.... to claim any worse that means we get zero wins over Florida, Georgia, LSU,Bama, USCe, and Arkansas...

We can't get one of those to go our way? We have played everyone close for a half (and then lost it because of numbers.... which will be somewhat improved next yr)....

We also had legitimate shots to beat LSU and USCe this year and we catch them both at home next year.... Lastly, the Georgia debacle was a letdown from the LSU game this year. Next year we will be coming off of the Buffalo game and that won't happen again....

7-5 should be expected

it's the truth... i just got real nervous seeing Montana at the top of the schedule

most smart fans know how good they are.....it would be sad to lose to Montana...but they are a middle -of-the-road D1 team (i know they are FCS - DIAA)...which is what UT is right now....watch out! That would be a HUGE loss. I think UT goes 7-5 next year!

I think they recently turned down an invite to the WAC. They are FCS in name only.

Ok, I don't think he's on the hotseat with 7. 6....maybe, but not 7.
You may be right. To be honest, I'm not sure that number really matters. I would say he better win at least 8 in his third year if he wants a fourth. I'd say he has to win at least 9 in year 3, but I feel like he would get another chance with 8.

the grizzlies year in and year out put a high caliber team on the field, cincy's slipping, overall we could have 8 wins and still barely reach a ranking of 25th because of weakness of schedule. Not really psyched about our out of conference games.

We should go 4-0.
