2011 Schedule

We still will have depth deficiencies on the OL and DL next year. 8 wins is a stretch.

I think 8 wins is reasonable. We WILL beat:

Montana
Cincinnati
Buffalo
MTSU
Vandy
KY

that's 6 right there. I'm sure we can pull 2 other wins somewhere. I think Florida will have a down year and we can probably beat GA.

Just a thought....

:loco:

And some think Tyler Wilson is just as good, and it was pretty clear in the Auburn and OM games that he can play. They get every single skill player back except the TE DJ Williams (All 4 of their good WR- Hamilton, Childs, Adams, Wirght and the running back Davis who is the must underrated RB in the league). Saying it is a for sure W is crazy. I also think most of their defense is back.

Calling SC a sure W is crazy too. Lattimore and Jeffery will be back on offense, their defense is always good, and Spurrier really likes Conner Shaw.

Nothing will be a garuntee in league play except Vandy & Kentucky.

We could go 9-3/10-2, but I can also see 7-5 or 6-6 again.

Yeah, and Florida's offense is going to be more explosive with John Brantley at Qb. Just look at how well he performed in limited duty in '09. :whistling:

UGA, LSU, 'Bama, and USCe back to back to back to back is a murderer's row similar to this year's October sked. Hopefully it won't be a skid again with a more mature team.

Not even close IMO. We re-establish our dominance of USCjr, UGA. There is always a chance to beat LSU while Miles is there. Bring on Bama, I aint sceered!!! Im going into next season expecting to have at least a chance to win every game. This year, I knew better.

09/03/2011 Montana TBA W
09/10/2011 Cincinnati TBA W
09/17/2011 at Florida TBA L
09/24/2011 Open TBA
10/01/2011 Buffalo TBA W
10/08/2011 Georgia TBA W
10/15/2011 LSU TBA L
10/22/2011 at Alabama TBA L
10/29/2011 South Carolina TBA L
11/05/2011 Middle Tennessee TBA W
11/12/2011 at Arkansas TBA W
11/19/2011 Vanderbilt TBA W
11/26/2011 at Kentucky TBA W
12/03/2011 SEC Championship (Atl.) TBA

I see 8 wins with the chance to win one we shouldn't or lose one we shouldn't
so a low of 7-5 with a shot at 9-3

8-4 seems reasonable.

If we surprise a team then 9-3 or if we lose one we shouldn't then 7-5. But no real reason we shouldn't win at least 7 next year, but if that's all we win then it'll be a little disappointing.

Ah, thanks

OOPS! My bad, it is 2013. I hit the wrong number while typing. I do remember reading somewhere that is was a schedule conflict. I think it had something to do with playing NC or NC state or something along those lines.

Sorry dude for the bad info.

:peace2:

Why do we have an open date before Buffalo? Don't we usually strategically schedule the open date before a real opponent?

I think we definitely win against Montana, Cincy, Buffalo, MTSU, Vandy and KY. That's 6 wins. UF will be tough. Though they may be more down than some of the other teams, we play them in Gainesville. The difference in the October stretch next year compared to this year is that 3 of 4 are at HOME this next year. Big difference. No way we go 0-4.

The open date got screwed up after we dropped UNC and added Buffalo.

On the surface, it looks like 6-6 again. We lose Oregon so we should add a non-conf win. We replace Ole Miss with Arkanasas so we add a tougher conf. game. However I think we'll be better...offensively at least. If the defense can just tread water I think we beat either UGA or SC. And I think we finally win our annual close game that no one expected us to be in this year (Bama 09, LSU 10). Don't know who that will be yet...maybe LSU again, or UF. 7-5 if we don't win that one, 8-4 if we do. In 2012 the sky is the limit.

Seeing a floor of 6-6, which is an improvement over the floor of 4-8 this year. Think we beat Montana, Cincy, MTSU, Buffalo, Vandy, and Kentucky. Sucks that we have the top three teams in the West rotating on the schedule (two away), but I would expect to take 1 to 3 of these games: Florida, Carolina (home), Georgia (home), Arkansas, LSU (home), Bama. So between 7-5 and 9-3. Crazy awesome scenario is 10-2 (lose to Bama and one other from that group). Crazy bad scenario is 6-6 (lose to all six of that group).

1988 we started out 0-6 with a young offensive line, then won five in a row to close out the year. In 1989, the offense jelled and we went 11-1, shared SEC championship and played in the Cotton Bowl against Arkansas. What I would give for dejavu!!!!

Realistically speaking, it depends on juco recruits on DL and a slot possession receiver to help on 3rd down and a power running back to help Poole. We will be fine everywhere else in my opinon. Offensive line with a year of experience and an offseason to get stronger. Tight end should be solid with Rivera and Auburn Transfer Slusher becoming eligible. Bray staying healthy will be key to exploding offense that will shock the SEC. Ben Martin and Walls getting healthy on DL along with Couch, Malik, and hopefully one more Juco DL to go along with Smith and Miller will give us a solid rotation on the front line. We have to replace Reviez and Lamarcus Thompson, but I believe we have there replacements ready with Seniors Vereen and Austin Johnson. Secondary comes back with new additions in this class, possible two shut down corners from juco in moore and lanier.

THE BIGGEST KEY IS KEEPING STAFF IN PLACE, ESPECIALLY CHANEY.
ITS GREAT TO BE A TENNESSEE VOL

So...might as well start now...looking to next year, what do you guys think?

Montana
Cincinnati
@Florida
Buffalo
Georgia
LSU
@Alabama
South Carolina
Middle Tennessee
@Arkansas
Vanderbilt
@Kentucky

...I think at worst 7-5, at best 9-3.

Probably right, but there is the possibility of a breakout season IMO. If you can move the ball and score points in CFB, which Vols can do with Bray, you are dangerous.

Mark this down, we will not lose to LSU next year. Our team will not lose to them after what happened in Baton Rouge this year and I am willing to bet a lot of money on a reasonable spread. We will probably lose to a much improve UGA team the week before and will want to kill LSU the following week. Also, I think we will have a decent chance of betting Alabama next year, especially if they have some offensive players go pro this year (Julio Jones, Mark Ingram) and so forth, although it is likely they will beat us.

Arkansas and UK are tossups to me. I think we will beat South Carolina at home too, although it will be tough. I think we lose to UF, UGA, Bama and Arkansas, although Arkansas is winnable without Mallett. 8-4. It's a long trip to Fayetteville and last time we went there, we didn't come to play and got massacred by McFadden.

Arkansas game is a toss up as well. Losing Mallet and possibly Childs and/or Wright. Also, lose a chunk of their secondary, two best TEs, and 3 offensive linemen.
