I know they've had some injury issues, but I would rather have both Noah and Boozer than Bosh. And Deng is having a pretty damn good year. Rose is the leader, but you can't discount Lebron for what he has around him and at the same time ignore what Rose has around him. Regardless of what team he has around him, Lebron is the best player in the league.

I'd take Kobe over Lebron everyday of the week, and twice on Sunday.

What about Kevin Love?

Yes, Minnesota sucks but he's having a good season. 17th in PPG with 21.0, 1st in RPG with 15.5, 46 straight double-doubles (and counting, 2nd longest streak all time)

He wouldn't be my pick for MVP, but he is making his case. Dude is unbelievable. I think he'd be better if he played closer to the basket at all times because he's that valuable of a rebounder. 15 rpg! That's the productivity of 2 good players, like playing 6 on 5.

Besides, can anybody honestly say they think love would be the first option on a good team?

Probably not.

But anyone who tries to discredit what he is doing this year is foolish, good team or not he is having a monster year.

Second longest streak of double-doubles in NBA history ( he will break it ). He has four 30 point/20 rebound games this year, the rest of the NBA has one.

IMO you gotta be at least in the hunt for the playoffs to win MVP.

Yeah, I understand most people think this way, but IMO it's an individual award and if that's the case you can't penalize a guy for the team he's on (whether it's Lebron on a great team or Love on a bad team).

Kevin Love is probably not going to be the first scoring option on a great team, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't be the best player. MVP isn't necessarily about scoring, but either way he can score. In most cases I'd rather have a guy that gets 15 rpg than a guy that scores 28 ppg.

Look at what you were saying about Lebron. If he could get that bunch in Cleveland to the NBA's best record, shouldn't Kevin Love at least have the T'Wolves in the playoffs if he's truly MVP-caliber?

Kobe took Smush Parker to the playoffs and STILL didn't win it.Love's team has what, 14 wins?

It's a little different because Lebron has the ball in his hands all the time. I wasn't the one making the point about Lebron in Cleveland, though. That was someone else. I think it does play in his favor to some extent but they lost Shaq and Delonte West, too. Varejeao has been hurt as well. Cleveland's demise isn't all Lebron, but he is a large part of it.

It absolutely does. If Kevin Love is a team's best player, they're not a great team.

Delonte West? Really?

Bron Bron is about 98% responsible.

You say this like Smush was the worst player ever. Smush shot a decent FG% and didn't turn the ball over much. You forget they had Odom who is better than anybody Love has on his team.

And Shaq, and Varejeao. It adds up. Especially when you give West's minutes to Gibson and Moon. That makes a difference.

In the 20 games before Varejao's injury (meaning, with him in the lineup) the Cavs went 1-19. It's not like they only became terrible after losing him.

Given that Shaq was replaced by Hickson, I think we can safely say it wasn't him either.

Like I said, at least 98% LeBron.

Are you really going to try to tell me that Smush Parker is good now? Even Kobe was making fun of him a few weeks ago.

"I know for me it was all about winning,'' Bryant said. "In my situation, we weren't spending the money to get players. They had me playing around with Smush Parker."

Kwame Brown and Chris Mihm also started for that team. Everyone but Kobe and Lamar would be riding Minnesota's bench. Look at this roster.

Are you serious?
