UTM- Win, Simms will start with Bray/Nance getting some nice PT. We will have over 500+ yards of total offense. 56-6 UT

Oregon-Win, If anyone can shut down Oregon its Coach Wilcox. I think this will be a very close game, but being @ Neyland I think we win. 24-14 UT

Florida-Win, Once again I think Coach Wilcox puts together a winning defensive scheme for the gators. New QB in Neyland, I like our chances, plus I will be in attendance :) 28-17 UT

UAB-Win, I think UAB plays a tough first half, but we pull away in 2nd half. 35-14 UT

LSU-Loss, @ LSU, do not like our chances. I think they will hand us our first loss. 31-17 LSU

UGA-Win, "In between the hedges" this game is a toss-up in my mind, I believe we pull it out. 24-17 UT

Bama-Loss, This will be a close game, but once again Bama will prevail :(. 28-24 Bama

S.Carolina-Loss, S.Carolina is returning alot of firepower, I think its too much, but then again it is S.Carolina. Right now I see it as a loss. 27-17 S.Carolina

Memphis-Win, I think Memphis will play us better then they have before, but we prove to be too much. 35-14 UT

Ole Miss-Win, NO McCluster close game though. 28-21 UT

Vandy- Win, no need to explain........35-17 UT

Kentucky- Win, 26 in a row, need I say more........35-21 UT

9-3 with a trip to the Cotton Bowl.

9-3 with a trip to the Cotton Bowl.

You're crazy if you think we'll be 4-0 to start the season, but by God I would love to be wrong.

UAB- W (Close game)
LSU- L
UGA- L
Ala- L
USC- L

Vandy- L
UK- W

Record: 4-8 (Record-breaking year for the Vols)

Dooley starts at UT where he finished at LA Tech, a huge improvement considering he's in the SEC now.

It's not as bad as it looks. This was a 6-6 year with a good hire.

7-5 is a stretch to me. I think a 6-6 season is a good first year for Dooley. I'm afraid we're heading into a down year. Our future is bright though ,because we do have two recent top 10 recruiting classes from 2009 and 2010. Next season, however, is a step back to take a nice leap forward.

:biggrin:Some of the comments on here are amazing. I'm bamfoozled. Anyway, here's how I see it breaking down.

UTM- BIG, I MEAN BIG, W
Oregon- W, Wilcox & the Ohio St game give me confidence we will win this game.
Florida- Close, but should be an L. Fl breaking in a new QB, DC, and loosing 11 returning starters on defense from the National Title team 2 years ago. That's a lot to overcome.
UAB- W, easy
LSU- LSU's offense is no juggernot(sp?) and Miles is prone to stupidity, too close to call
UGA- W, after all JrKiff said we'd never loose to UGA again :biggrin: Seriously, W
Ala- L, they're just good right now
USC- W, No one on this staff is intimidated by the legend that is Spurrier
Mem- W
Miss- W, No McCluster drives Houston nuts (did you see what I did there?)
Vandy- W, easy
UK- W, 26+, no joker (I did it again)

All funnin' aside, 9 wins +/- 1. Then a decent bowl, hopefully against someone from the Big 10.

Dear Mr. ThreadStarter, you were correct, this is fun, in a very serious way.

UT Martin-W....55-7
Oregon-L....24-14
UF-W....24-21(Little late game payback for tebows freshman year lol)
UAB-W....38-10
@LSU-L....27-17
@UGA-W....28-17
Bama-L.....30-13(sorry, but that one just ain't lookin good)
@USCjr-L....21-18
@UofM-W....34-14
Ole Miss-W....28-14(homecoming, OM losing alot of guys, i say we win easily)
@Vandy-W....48-10
Drumroll please...............
UK-L....21-20!!!!

Don't hate on me for picking KY, they're gonna beat us eventually, why not have it happen while we're on a down year rather than let's say 5 years down the road when an undefeated season is on the line and they shock the world.
all in all, i think we go 7-5 next year.

For everyone predicting a better season than last, why? Your offense is completely gone and your defense lost, arguably, its better players. As a Gator fan, we lost our share of good players on offense and defense so for me to believe we can do better seems a little conceited or outright silly, I suppose.

7-6 again but this time y'all win your bowl game.

Well it's because we have 5 games on our schedule that we should deffinitely win. Then we have 3 games that are basically toss-ups. With a few lucky bounces, there's no reason this team can't win 7 or 8 games next year. It's called optimism. Some people are calling it delusion, which is complete BS. This is still Tennessee, there's still plenty of talent, because untalented players usually don't make it to UT. 7 or 8 wins should never be viewed as a delusion. Not here. Now maybe for those people who are predicting 9-10 wins, then yeah, they're pretty delusional, because IMHO, that's still a year or two away.

the vols have more holes to fill than a slice of swiss cheese. you must replace your QB,RB,TE, much of your offensive line, much of your defense and your kickers.....on top of that you have an entire new coaching staff installing a completely new system.....and your saying 9-3? LMAO! most hilarious is everyone here is predicting a victory in Athens. Brace yourselves for the inevitable........mark my words after Dooley starts out 2-4 you'll need 2 out of 3 vs.Vandy,Ole Miss and UK just to finish 4-8. :dunno:

Somehow that math just doesn't add up to me. :crazy: But 4-8 isn't out of the question.

Do a little research dweeb before you come over here spoutin off at the mouth. We will be ok at qb with 5 qb's battling for the spot this spring. As for rb we will also be fine as we will be starting the 2009 #1 overall recruit there, and have 3 4*'s backing him up. I don't even feel like I should comment on the TE topic since we will be returning our all SEC caliber TE. This really won't be too much of a new system since our OC is back, and our defense will be fine if we can get decent DT play. But hey maybe yall will be able to reach the redzone against us this year :crazy:

Vs. UT-Martin = (W 62-0). Huge win for the Vols that builds the kind of false-hope that the WKU game did the year before.
Vs. Oregon = (L 20-31) Hard to say at this point. Lots of variables for Oregon especially concerning the status of their QB. But Oregon returns a lot of starters and UT doesn't. Close hard-fought loss to the Pac-10 once again.
Vs. Florida = (L 21-30) UF is a lot more talented, especially on the offensive and defensive lines. Tennessee makes this one close at home with UF turnovers, but UT's depleted defensive line just can't stop the run as UF goes for over 200 on the ground behind an offensive line with 4 seniors.
Vs. UAB = (W 41-10) UAB doesn't stand a chance. UT forces 5 TO's.
@ LSU = (L 23-33) Tennessee keeps this one close most of the game, but a 3rd year starter at QB for LSU, behind a pretty good offensive line, with a bunch of good skill players around him is just too much on the road for Tennessee. Less Miles almost blows the game, though. UT QB's throw 3 pics.
@ UGA = (W 24-20) I see this as a big redemption year for UGA. 10 starters return on offense, and the only thing holding them back from a SEC title run is a QB. They'll be starting a freshmen. UT will be able to pressure the kid enough that his mistakes allow UT to outlast UGA even though they rush for 200 yards.
Vs. Alabama = (W 30-28) Tennessee has the bye week, and will be Alabama's THIRD STRAIGHT SEC game where their opponent had a bye the week before. Alabama's defense will be tired, and UT kicks a 45 yard FG to win the game. No arm-pit blocks this year.
@ USC = (L 17-35) Coming off one of the biggest UT wins in recent memory, an emotionally drained and physically wiped out Vols team travels to South Carolina where they get whipped by a focused, and talented South Carolina team that is trying desperately to stay in the SEC east race.
@ Memphis = (W 38-31) Coming off two brutal, physical games, UT holds on to beat Memphis in a shoot out.
Vs. Ole Miss = (W 17-16) In a messy game, UT turns another Ole Miss INT into a late FG, and Houston Nutt's botched fake punt with 3 minutes left seals the deal as UT collects 6 OM turnovers while surrendering 4 of their own in an exciting, messy victory that features 8 QB sacks combined by both teams.
@ Vandy = (L 18-20) In typical Vandy fashion of recent years, the Vandy defense stands tall, and harasses the UT QB for most of the day. UT is losing most of the game, and has been unable to score in the RZ. Trailing 20-12 late in the 4th, UT scores on the only long run of the day by Bryce Brown, but the 2 pt conversion fails as Jones can't quite bring down the fade in the corner of the endzone.
Vs Kentucy = (W 33-28) Randall Cobb goes crazy, and Kentucky takes a late 28-27 lead over UT on Cobb's 3rd TD of the day. But in typical UT-UK fashion, the Vols drive the length of the field and the Tennessee QB throws a 25 yard TD with 7 seconds left to Luke Stocker in the middle of the end zone. UT misses the 2 pt conversion, but wins the game.

7-5, 4-4, and except for the upset loss to Vandy, a good season for a depleted team.

What freshman quarterback will be starting at Georgia?
