In 2005 UT had 5 guys drafted into the NFL, and they were picked as National Champion preseason.
They went 5-6. Had a nice win against LSU, but not much else.
2006 they dismantle heavily favored #9 California with Marshawn Lynch, Justin Forsett, Desean Jackson.
They end the regular season 9-3
In 2005 they averaged 18 ppg
In 2006 they averaged 30 ppg
- Remember this was in an era when defense could still be played properly.
What caused the big jump in wins and production?
How did a 5-6 ball club that lost 5 NFL Draft picks suddenly become better? They started scoring.
Where did the talent come from to all of a sudden produce points? Transfers? Big time 2006 recruiting class??
No. They used the exact same personnel and improved by two scores. BECAUSE THE TALENT WAS ALREADY THERE. .....David Cutcliffe was the difference
Some of you think we don't have any offensive talent.
Yall are saying we go 4-8, 6-6 at best???????
We just got a coach that improves offense everywhere he goes the past 5 years including two of those in the SEC.
2020 we averaged 21.5 points a game in the Era of explosive offense.
Do you all really think Heupel won't improve on that?

JG aint at QB, and we sure as hell don't have Pruitt and his ancient concepts of winning football around anymore.
