Yes. Iceman, Travis Stevens, balanced offensive attack. Still, the 98 victory is my all time favorite. Don't remember a crowd as raucous as that one. Can somebody start a thread on this?

Although the stakes were lower, the 3rd quarter of UF 92 in the rain was more intense...but 98 was really, REALLY exceptional. Loved them both.

Balanced offensive attack? Um Stephens beat UF.

I think the attack was balanced enough to keep Florida from crowding the line and keying in on Stephens, but you’re right, we don’t win without Stephens. And we can do ifs and buts all day, but if that game hadn’t been postponed, there’s a good chance we lose. Stallworth would have been out, I think Eric Parker was banged up, Kelley Washington wouldn’t have had nearly a season under his belt, etc. Earnest Graham got hurt the week before by some FSU thugs at the bottom of a pile. As much as I loved that game, and the fact that it was the last game Spurrier coached in the swamp, a lot of things had to go our way to get a 2 point win. Helluva game though. And even though I think the game being postponed helped us, I’d undo it and live with the results of it being played on time if we could undo 9/11.

Henderson was hurt against Syracuse. Haynesworth was banged up too.

And it goes both ways there are times when teams caught us at the right time. It would never diminish the bigness of this win. Even though I regret losing the tape of this game in my divorce, the worst part is losing the Spurrier interviews after the game & the following week. He was COMPLETELY sick. Totally! It was really nice to see. He couldn't really believe it after the game. I thought he would resign that night (or at least pass out), and he did quit the next year.. good times for Vol fans..... Until LSU in Atlanta a week later..

There was nothing quite like being there in person. UF fan threw a hotdog at me after we made our way out of the stadium cheering “it’s great to be a Tennessee Vol”. I was only upset at the fact that the hotdog had ketchup. A hotdog without mustard is disrespectful.
