(2) Thunder vs. (3) Lakers

If by leader you mean "We have no one else, we pay him $25M a year and have a coach that couldn't inspire gophers to dig holes..." then yeah you got a leader.

I get what you are saying and agree to the most part.

Kobe is the "leader" of this team, but definitely isn't that good of one, like your other greats Jordan, Magic for example. There are times where Kobe is that said "leader" and takes control and leads them, but he also hurts them a lot with his "leadership" skills.

Maybe. Bynum was tired at the end of the game.

Bynum was asked after the game why they stopped going to him. He said because when OKC started fronting it 'threw them out of whack.' So, apparently if OKC fronts the Lakers bigs they are useless. Bizarre.

Kobe throwing Gasol under the bus from the get go with his press conference.

Didn't say anything about himself going 2/10 in the 4th.

They should be at least be tied 2-2, but Mike Brown continues to prove he is a moron with his offense.
How can you blame Mike Brown for Kobe playing team basketball for 3.5 qtrs and then take every shot the last 5 minutes?

You dont see many teams within that close of a score have a player play 40 minutes, score 38, yet be plus 6 with him off the court for 8 minutes while being -9 for the 40 he played. He throws the whole game plan in trash the last 5 minutes by taking dumb shots.

Bynum is playing like trash an Pau isn't even looking at the basketball. Explain this to me in terms of %'s huffhines..

This sums it up:

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Kobe 1/8 in the 4th now.

Bynum having 18 and 9 on 15 shots is a nice game, and is one of the reasons the Lakers had a 12 point lead. He didn't touch the ball down the stretch, and that offensive rebound by Perkins for the put back should have been called a foul on Perkins. Bynum had position, and Perkins pushed him with his hands at the waist.

Gasol played like trash.

Bynum allowed his man to front him, Gasol was a complete no-show for the high-low and Kobe was forced to jack up shots at the end of the shot clock. I don't know how this isn't obvious to everyone..

I still think if they kept going to Bynum they would have won pretty easily. He was straight up dominating.

What I see is Kobe hanging onto the ball for :08, and then jacking it before the shot clock goes off. They did not work the ball inside at all down the stretch, that I recall. Kobe got it to Gasol once, and that was 20' from the basket.

Yeah, after fact checking, they didn't work it inside at all. Kobe missed from 6' and 9', but besides that, the closest shot was Bynum from 10'....the whole 4th quarter while Kobe was in.

The Lakers get very predictable in the 4th.

Note: Steve Blake had a layup assisted by Kobe, but still the point is the bigs need touches inside.

Comeon TBrown simply fronting means it takes away the initial pass you have to either move the ball around or screen and repost. Kobe would not relinquish ball. We agree on a lot of things but the fronting is a copout.

That's because Bynum is lazy as hell sometimes. What a sorry excuse. "It got me out of whack." Work then to get the freakin ball (it didn't help the Lakers didn't try anyways);.

Good point. He still doesn't have a good offense.

Agree, but the underrated thing in this series is the great game plan he has actually came up with. If they stay within the game plan, they should be up 3-1 right now. They have thrown away two games because they left what was working. I have no vendetta vs. Kobe or any superstar , but Kobe has lost the two blown games for them and Pau is a close 2nd. However, after getting embarrassed in that first game, I feel like Mike Brown has actually out-coached Brooks. Slow the tempo down, feed the post, and let Kobe get open shots when the ball gets kicked back out. What Mike Brown lacks in offensive game planning, he more than makes up for it with defense.

I have no clue why this guy gets such a bad rep. Pop gave him a ton of credit when he was at SA for their title runs, he maxed out the talent in Cleveland, and now he took a situation in LA after the Dallas series last year and actually had them playing well.

Ding ding ding.

Bynum accepted the front. Kobe wasn't even on the same side of the floor to make the entrance passes. He was on the opposite side of the floor. They looked in to Bynum, he accepted the front, didn't work at all for the ball or attempt to seal his man for the high-low. They swung the ball over to Kobe and everyone stopped moving and watched him. Rinse and repeat.

It's really frustrating to watch the bigs in the 4th quarter for the lakers, they're all but out of this series when the lakers had the chance to be up 3-1. 4th quarter D has been atrocious as well.

Bynum has to work (fight through the front or seal for the high-low..or quite simply, bust his ass to the other block before the front arrives) to get the ball if he's being fronted. He stood. Period.

I've seen this the entire series, it's baffling honestly

LMAO! Kobe has 2 horrible 4th quarter collapses to lose games they had in hand, and the bigs are the ones frustrating the fans. Not the guy shooting 1/8.

People keep questioning their effort in the 4th quarter, meanwhile Kobe is taking lazy shots.

shooting ≠ trying

That's because Metta has the basketball IQ of my dog.
