My high school 30some years ago, with one of the best HS football stadiums you'll ever see - makes me proud...
The Stone Castle! You got that right, one of the best HS stadiums out there! Love it when the local kids have the talent to play for UT! Welcome to Big Orange Country!

I mean no offense here and I'm glad and proud to have these Bristol boys coming to TN, but unless something has really changed the Stone Castle is nothing special at all, I played there in 80' and 82' and the field was in half-assed shape and the locker room facilities weren't much to speak of. In the 82' game there was actually dogsh!t all over the field, our fulback got tackled in a pile and we had to call a timeout because we couldn't even huddle because everyone was gagging. True story.
Some of you are acting as if Dooley and his staff are purposely going after players with fewer stars because they think that's all they can get. This is completely moronic and not based on reality whatsoever. If Dooley offered these boys a scholarship, then I am confident it's because Dooley believes they will make great players and fit well in his system.
I've said it before, I trust Dooley and his staff to evaluate talent more so than Rivals or Scout. Let's judge 2-3 years from now on just how good this class will be.
A few months ago, some of you were *****ing and moaning that we didn't have any commitments. Now that commitments are coming in, you're STILL *****ing because they don't have as many stars as you would like them to have. God, shut up!
Crowder received offers from Florida, Auburn, Va Tech, Ga Tech, Penn State and South Carolina, just to name a few.
not sure about Downs, but lol @ your ignorant post.
Edit: Downs " biggest " offer was from Va Tech, though he was committed to Duke originally, and David Cutcliffe knows offensive talent.
Wow. Can't some of you guys refrain from being jerks just long enough to let these guys celebrate their decisions?
Downs is a very, very good TE prospect. He's big, fast, athletic, catches well, and is extremely intelligent.
We'll take 'em. 3* linemen should be the most common appearance in this year's class. We have the stars at skilled positions. Press on, CDD. It's nothing extraordinary, but it's where we need bodies. Hopefully we get the ones that work out best for us.
Homegrown is an extra!
And probably with kids who don't get expelled, arrested, or dismissed due to breaking the law. Blue collar players can and do bring solid results, especially with quality coaching. I look forward to seeing our "inferior" kids beating the unholy sh(* out of supposedly superior teams. We might not get that consistently this year but 2011 will see the orange sun rising in the east and scorching "big boys" to the point that sunblock just ain't going to help.

For all you guys whining and b*tching that they are only 3 stars, how many 5 star OL do you think there are? Rivals has two listed. One is committed to LSU. The other is that Kouandjo kid. Cant remember where his brother ended up, but we are listed in schools of interest. Scout has 6 with us listed as a school of interest for the three that aren't committed. Chill.
You geezer! J/k. I wish my old high school would put out some d-1 talent. We had one Guy go to ole miss back in the 60's and I played at Lambuth University in Jackson but that's just a NAIA school.
