'19 FL QB Brian Maurer Commits to UT

Hurds HS film was another great example. If you went by HS film, he wws the next Eric Dickerson.

Completely agree. By watching his film, you’d have been certain that his strength was exploding through holes and ripping off long, 50+ yard runs with great speed on a consistent basis......and nothing could be further from what was the reality from his time at Tennessee since he was a 3 yards and a cloud of dust bruiser once he got to Knoxville.

Fact is, what’s most important for a QB, the intangibles of playing the position, can’t really be seen or can only be seen in very limited quantities on HighSchool tape imo. And that’s why the only logical, prudent, sensible thing to do here is to trust the coaches who have spent time with him and seen him and evaluated him up close.

People forget that Hurd was on track to break the Tennessee all-time rushing record in 3 years until his demise. He’ll play this year at Baylor and do well. If he remains healthy, he will play in the League.

College Sports: Why wide receiver Jalen Hurd is Baylor's breakout player of the spring | SportsDay

Absolutely nobody forgets that.

But what people also remember is that getting to the top of of UT’s all-time rushing leaderboard isn’t a huge accomplishment because we’ve never had great running back be the sole, primary guy for more than a year or two (certainly never 3 or 4 years) and the total just isn’t that high.....and we also remember watching Hurd, who never had even a single 50 yard run in nearly 600 rushes, who ran for 2, 1, 0 or negative yardage in more than half of his carries and who had a well below average collegiate average yards per carry. We also remember that we’ve had a lot of much better running backs than Hurd at Tennessee over the years and despite finishing top 10 in terms of rushing yards all time, that he doesn’t make the list of top 10 running backs at Tennessee all-time.

As long as you believe in the inaccurate garbage you write, it’s fine with me...chuckle..

What does his comment have to do with JG? It's sad you have to make anything positive said about a qb a negative against JG.

K-town you are silly my friend. I was inquiring if it was a shot at JG, because that is what everyone has said about JG is that they like his toughness.

How would anyone know what Maurer's toughness is if he hasn't played a single game in college?

Duh.

Guess you missed the reference.

Btw not everyone hates JG lol, I've said before if he is good enough to start he should start.

Do you realize that you average 19 posts a day on this site? Get a life and do your own research with all that free time you have....chortle...😂

I average 25. I have a great life. Your points are s*** along with the rest of your contrived “research”...pisses on your corpse...:finger3:

So I see you lost the debate. You let your emotions get the best of you, got triggered by something I posted, and couldn’t actually back up the ish you said. Lol. Well done.

I’ve done the research slick, included some of it in the posts that led to your menopausal response here. You don’t like the numbers/facts about Hurd’s career here, that’s on you. They are what they are no matter how upset they make you.

And what the hell do you care how many times I post on here? You took the time to look up how many posts I have on here and how many years I’ve been on here....who does that? So who exactly needs to “get a life”? Are you really bothered that much? Either way, it’s none of your business. Put me on ignore champ, it’ll make both our VN experiences better.

Chortle?? You’re a weird dude.
