'19 FL QB Brian Maurer Commits to UT

Hipple...you zack puddy! :cool2:
th

You said bluechip, which Dak wasn't highly rated. He was a low *3. So again you proved your ability to be wrong numerous times in a very short span.

Jason, you can't argue with a fool....... Waste of time because as many of the doubters/arm chairs/know more than coaches..... (Couch Potatoes) legend in their own mind pee wee super stars, there's no convincing them to SEE clearly.

Keep fighting the good fight Brother!!!!

A&M wasn’t interested once they got Calzada. I haven’t seen him mentioned once on the A&M boards.

I hadn’t seen him mentioned much on the UT boards until he committed. You don’t perfo m that we’ll at elite 11 and not see your stock soar. Good thing UT got him early.

I don’t know very much at all about this kid myself. But a couple of my Buds that live in Florida, seem to think this kid is a steal!
Hopefully they’re right on!

My question is why do some posters continue to question our coaching staff? If these few posters knew more than our Coach's, they would be out coaching, recruiting and making 6-7 figure salaries instead of spending all day on VN. It absolutely boggles the mind all the next Saban and Meyer's we have posting on Volnation.

I believe the vast majority of Vol fans support this player’s commitment. It’s not that people are necessarily questioning the coaches, they’re just discussing players, recruits and football. That’s what message boards are for. You don’t have to still be a coach or player to do that.

For example, Maurer threw 18 touchdowns and had 13 interceptions his junior year and runs a 4.79 forty.

I agree with you on this. But I've seen posts that question why we offered him and that he isn't good enough to play here. It was directed more at those type of posts. Same for the Shrout comments on him not being an SEC player. Nobody knows that one way or the other.

He is a much better prospect than Shrout though. Better offer list. Better camp performances. Better ranking. More athletic.

I don't see why anyone would question this commit. He isn't a last second hail mary.

Yep, you’re right. GoVols!

Fisher just got fired at FSU............

Urban’s offer wasn’t commitable. The kid tried to commit, but they turned him down.

Mullen is one of the best evaluators and teachers of QBs in the NCAA. His resumé includes a Heisman Trophy winner and sending QBs to the NFL. If you know anything about SEC QB coaches, you should know that.

Dan Mullen is the most overhyped coach I’ve ever seen.

We are recruiting him like all other schools for those weapons he has. He has talent, but he doesn't look like anything special. But about two of his wrs do.

Pruitt and Helton (and Meyer’s and Holgorsen’s)in-person evaluation of Maurer at Tennessee camp>>>>>>>>> VN posters ability to evaluate his HighSchool HUDL film.

TKJr’s HighSchool film as a running back made him look like the second coming of Walter Payton.....it’s not reliable either way. Think I’ll trust a couple of the best collegiate football recruiters (JP and Meyer) on this one.
