So why moan about it all the time if you think JG is going to start out being the guy? As for the "lame duck toss ups", that's pure hyperbole. Regardless of how who or why it happened, JG was one of the best in the conference at completing downfield passes last season and with a better supporting cast there is no reason to think he won't continue to improve in that area.
Lol, do you guys know how the locker room works? We're already 5-7 kids above 85 so there are a bunch of cuts that have to be made to even get to a number where we can add him. Who are you going to cut out of the QB room? It's obviously not JG because he would have transferred if he thought he wasn't going to play.
You're dense if you think the penalty didn't have a bigger effect on the game. The penalty is why we were down 2 scores with 8 minutes to go instead of tied up midway through the 4th. You're most likely just dumb, sorry, no nicer way to put it.So, the fumble at the goal line returned for 6, a play where if we score we pull within 1 score, instead we are down 3 scores with 8mins left and completely out of it - that play wasn’t as much of a “game changer” as a BS roughing the passer pentalty?!? You’re either trolling or dumb. Sorry. No nicer way to put it.
Andy Kelly didn’t throw for 400 billion yards in the Arena League, playing for like 20 years because he was the all time worst, that’s for sureDifferent time and different football. He actually had really good stats for that time and era. Tommy Maddox was a 1st rd pick and threw 33 tds and 30 ints in two seasons. He threw 16tds and 16 ints and went in the first round the same year as Kelly's SR year. Kelly was actually really good for that time and top 10 in almost every category.

I don't think there is any chance he is the starting QB in Knoxville if the football season is played this year.
Perfectly said.Is that your final point in this argument? Because I’m fine with that. I 100% will not be as excited for this season if JG wins the job. Better than lying to myself or being an idiot Jason Garrett type of clapper. We’re not winning 9 games with a QB who can’t throw a swing or screen pass.
And if what I think about JG is going to effect his play this fall, then he’s already doomed. It’s not going to change my fan hood. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - I’d love nothing more than for him to prove me wrong. As of this moment though, he is an awful QB who we have been winning in spite of and losing because of.
Look I have nothing against JG but the overwhelming opinion of people who do college football for a living is he is not very good relative to the other QB's in the SEC. I will say I don't know enough to make an independent assessment. However, here are some facts. 247 ranks JG 11th out of 14 projected starters. He’s only ahead of Seals at Vandy, Brennan at LSU and Robinson at Mizzou. What little we’ve seen of Seals is not very good. Brennan is apparently showing Coach O enough that LSU is not chasing JT Daniels despite having had great success with Burrows as a transfer. Robinson is an App State transfer if memory serves. JG is a redshirt senior – that’s 5 years in the program and he’s rated pre-season 11th out of 14. I hope JG proves us all wrong and breaks all Manning’s single season records and we go 15-0 and win the Natty behind his QB play. Heck, I would be delighted with a 9-3 regular season where none of us could say he cost us a win. Based on past performance it’s just unlikely. Ranking the SEC's starting quarterbacks in 2020
I don’t think this staff does anything half speed but where are you getting “aggressively” from? Most I’ve seen is Hubbs on VQ implying conversations.I cannot figure out your point on here. Our coaches are aggressively pursuing this guy, the fans are excited about him, and the national analysts are all saying he would be an immediate starter/upgrade. And you're just on here picking fights with everyone and telling them they're wrong. Why? Your words don't have any credibility so you're just being angry to be angry? Sounds exhausting.

Brad Crawford is just a journalist fwiw, not an analyst or scout. 11th is wild when he just finished top half in all major efficiency stats. People forget how bad many other SEC qbs were. Vandy, uk, usce, miss st, ark all had far worse.Look I have nothing against JG but the overwhelming opinion of people who do college football for a living is he is not very good relative to the other QB's in the SEC. Bruin, slow down for a moment and just consider that you are calling Andy Kelly worse than JG. I just wanna make sure you know what you are saying. Not your finest moment @nicksjuzunk unless you think this guy was a good college QB

Didn't change the goalposts at all, you just didn't understand what I said. Now you change the goalposts. You're the one that said it said more about our other QBs was the reason JG keeps getting inserted. The sneak and fumble was a dumb play and he payed a heavy penalty for it but it wasn't anywhere near the game changer the roughing the passer penalty on Taylor turned out to be in that game.

Are you basing your “bad college QB” summation on the full season he played where he posted a 139 QB rating on a bad team...or the second season where he played in only 5 games. If the latter, that’s just being contrarian and reaching for contrarian’s sake...not like you whatsoever.I’ve stated my case. The stats support my side and very much so mind you
my post was regarding you using the arena league as some kind of measuring stick which wasn’t your finest moment. The Garcia guy I posted was a bad college QB is the all time leading passer in that league so whatever point you were trying to make was a swing and a miss
