'18 TN DL Greg Emerson (UT commit 7/3/17)

But what if said business just so happens to be having an event on a particular day and is giving free gear away as a promotional deal to the public for say a 10 minute period of time and said business doesn't realize that the bus load of overly large athletically built men entering their store are football prospects. If said business was giving away promotional items to anyone that walked in the store during said 10 minute period of time....how could that possibly be construed as illegal?

Are you promoting the use of the five finger discount?

Emerson stopped in Nashville at NPA event on his way home today so Austin Price got a video interview and put it up on VQ...Emerson said it was a great visit, his expectations were high and they met all those, enjoyed meeting Hoke and Wells for first time, it felt like home, home state school making him priority #1 feels good. His father, who passed when he was younger, was a Vol fan and he remembers that, his mother is his backbone and he puts family first. Seems like a good kid, always smiling and having fun type. Also had on a nice jacket...

Can an athletic dept give gear?

They do and i mean all of them do. The NCAA doesn't care about gear hell the schools just use the clause in which it's a part of the camp or visit. I've never been to 1 single school in which it wasn't handed out like sticks of gum.

They didn't give me ish when I went. Of course I just walked around the training center and coaches offices at my own leisure.

It's all about how much confidence you give off Conley.

Only Pat Summitt gave me a weird look. Door was propped open.

The Vols undoubtedly helped themselves with top-50 defensive lineman Greg Emerson of North Side High School in Jackson, Tenn., by getting him on campus for a two-night stay that allowed him to spend plenty of time with fellow Jackson native Trey Smith. Emerson enjoyed getting to know new defensive line coach Brady Hoke and recently promoted offensive line coach Walt Wells, and he’s already planning to visit Tennessee for one of its spring practices in addition to its spring game next month. Emerson doesn’t expect to decide on a school until at least December, and the Vols still have plenty of competition for him, including Alabama, Ohio State and Clemson. But Tennessee has made a strong impression on him so far.

Dang I was hoping some of these in state kids would commit early. Need them on board to help recruit. Hate he's wanting to wait until December. Maybe that will change

Wouldn't be the first time a recruit committed earlier than he planned and it surely won't be the last. IMO If Emerson knows he wants to be a Vol, he won't wait.
