franklin (ga.) heard county quarterback emory jones made visits last week to ohio state, clemson and tennessee. He then got away from recruiting for a day or two, but the final phase may be about to kick into gear.
hes been super busy since he got back from those visits, heard county head coach tim barron said. but he spoke to (ohio state quarterbacks) coach (tim) beck today. It went well. He loved his trip up there. He had a great time. I still think ohio state is no. 1.
barron said tennessee and clemson are still in the mix. barron also would not rule out one more visit to georgia, though the bulldogs would be a bit of a long shot.
listening to him talk, ohio state, clemson and tennessee are still the top three, barron said.
there is no timetable, but i have a feeling he will make his decision early, barron said. hes narrowed it down to who he really likes. I think hes ready to pull the trigger. I know he really enjoyed it at ohio state. The only fear is distance. His mother is very involved. She wants to be at his games. But she doesnt want to be any cause for him not choosing the school he likes.
he knows he is not going to walk in the door and be the no. 1 guy wherever he goes, barron said. he knows at any big-time program there is going to be competition. Thats the way it should be. If its not something is wrong.
