'18 GA QB Emory Jones (Ohio State commit)

Plus he would get the chance to compete in the SEC which is the best conference in the country. Not in that weak Big 10 league that Ohio St. plays in.

Really hope he comes to UT but for some reason I think he's headed to OSU. He'd be a great fit for the offense

60/40 OSU/UT IMO

It's probably more like 50/50 but the dream school variable is why I have it at 60/40

We sure as hell put ourselves in the best possible position to land him though

I am getting the same feeling. We can only hope the Tate Martell committment and us not signing a big time QB in this class works in our favor.

franklin (ga.) heard county quarterback emory jones made visits last week to ohio state, clemson and tennessee. He then got away from recruiting for a day or two, but the final phase may be about to kick into gear.

“he’s been super busy since he got back from those visits,” heard county head coach tim barron said. “but he spoke to (ohio state quarterbacks) coach (tim) beck today. It went well. He loved his trip up there. He had a great time. I still think ohio state is no. 1.”

barron said tennessee and clemson are “still in the mix.” barron also would not rule out one more visit to georgia, though the bulldogs would be a bit of a long shot.

“listening to him talk, ohio state, clemson and tennessee are still the top three,” barron said.

“there is no timetable, but i have a feeling he will make his decision early,” barron said. “he’s narrowed it down to who he really likes. I think he’s ready to pull the trigger. I know he really enjoyed it at ohio state. The only fear is distance. His mother is very involved. She wants to be at his games. But she doesn’t want to be any cause for him not choosing the school he likes.”

“he knows he is not going to walk in the door and be the no. 1 guy wherever he goes,” barron said. “he knows at any big-time program there is going to be competition. That’s the way it should be. If it’s not something is wrong.”

This kid and TL have done a remarkable job of looking at each school they like, doing their research, and understanding how a recruitment should go. Props to both kids. Would suck if both do not choose TN, but can't say they didn't ride the process in a great way. Best wishes to wherever they choose to go to. Classy men.

As a previous poster stated, what is the route we go if both Emory and TL don't commit to us? Not to be negative, but I'm not feeling super awesome about our chances with either. It's weird how recruitment goes, it feels like just a few months ago we were riding high with TL and now I'm seeing crystal balls with him at 77% to GA.

Yeah I dont think we are getting either of them. There will be kids who come out of nowhere though. Just wondering if staff has already identified others

Me. I'm our guy. I once threw a football 40 yards on the fly. I also was a QB in intramurals one year.

Come and get me, Butch.

Ouch. Where do they go if they lose him? It's seems like they've put all their eggs in his basket at QB... really for both this current class and the '18 class.
