'18 GA QB Emory Jones (Ohio State commit)

I think a lot of you are over hyping this guy. I can't remember seeing him step up in the pocket, or stand in the pocket and make a throw, except once to the TE that busted free as soon as the play started up the middle. The rest of his throws he was running around like a kid on PS and his wrs were usually wide open. He did make some very nice throws, but I'm not sure he is the best we can do, or would help us get to where we need to be. Yall can say he will grow, can do better with a solid sec o line etc. But I think he would require a lot of work. Highlights was kind of boring to me. Roll out, jump, throw to a WIDE OPEN WR. I'm no expert, jmo.

Anybody can throw to an open WR...completing it's the chore. Gotta spect the guy who'll find the receiver that's covered and plunk him in the back of da head. :)

I dunno guys...seems like we are slipping on both Lawrence and jones. Can we redshirt sheriron jones for a second year to space out the talent? Sheriron was highly sought after as well. Both jones' look similar in arm strength, speed, and accuracy.

Good golly, Miss Molly.

I didn't even know who he was...still don't. :wink2:

I won't quote him as a personal favor to you. :hi:

Edit: did you mean BOT?

Oh I was just talking about the stupidity in his remarks. If you need to quote him, that's fine. You're one of my favorite posters on here, so you can do whatever you want as far as I'm concerned  I just blocked him because I personally don't want to see his comments

"Obviously, 2018 quarterback Emory Jones has been a name we've been following closely for the last month since he visit in early March. Since then, Tennessee has been the clear team to beat and he could do something this weekend.

Now, there is plenty of time between now and when he has to sign and a recent visit to Florida may have had him slow down, but he and his parents will be in town this weekend so it could be interesting to see what he does."

Brace yourself

If Emory Jones wants to commit this weekend, I say you let him. Especially since Lawrence has took more interest in Georgia here lately. He's perfect for our offense.

8/18 At South Atlanta (L)
8/26 Greenville
9/02 New Manchester
9/09 At Darlington
9/16 Central, Carroll
9/23 Temple
10/13 At Callaway (C)
10/21 Jordan
10/28 Lamar County
11/05 At Spencer (K)

This is Heard's schedule next year for anyone intrested in seeing them play. Central and Callaway will be good tests for him as they are both much larger schools and are usually good.

Yes...he really can be serious. Most everyone else realizes the defense collapsed from lack of depth & sheer exhaustion from being on the field too long...and a single first down on late drives would have sealed the game in several instances. But Dobb's throwing abilities are criticized because we're really racists. Otherwise he's got some decent insights cause he does watch a lot of film.

I know he drives many of you crazy, but I mostly agree with his point. Yes, a single first down in one of those games could have changed the outcome, but the play calls late in the game were conservative. If I also recall, we had a couple of drives into OU territory in the 2nd half, and a first down resulted in a Hurd fumble for a loss of about 15 yards. If you score 27 points against that UF team, you should win. We gave up 5 fourth down conversions. If one of those results in a stop, we win. I believe the defensive play calling had something to do with it. The defense was just as responsible as the offense.

RTI has some film of Jones. He definitely has some wheels and a big arm but he will not get away with throwing off his back foot in the SEC. He's gonna have to learn to either throw the ball away or eat it when he gets in those situations in college. He'll throw 20 picks in the SEC with that move. Just my opinion.
