'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

So does anyone think we still have a shot at Tee? :)

At this point two years ago, nobody thought we had a shot at Drew Richmond. Point is that if you feel an instate kid that has shown interest can help your team, then you keep trying until the LOI shows up to its final destination.

What just happened to Justin Hunter may happen to Tee if he doesn't learn how to block and have the physicality required of NFL receivers. It's just not a finesse league. What's ironic is after all the criticism w/Azzani's methods, they suddenly seem to be paying off for Malone and Jennings.

Lol.

Well, it was reported bridges were burned and serious money exchanged hands. You have to wonder if that's true and UT is aware and they're not going to make any more pushes.

Here we go again. Reported by who? The "insiders" from this board that got humiliated by this kid. Common.

This is why the average fan grinds my gears. I remember back in 2004 when we were 7-1 and had Notre Dame at home that year. Ainge was in his freshman year at QB. We were leading 10-7 at the half. Notre Dame had not moved the ball well up to that point in the game. We had the ball on our own 20 with under 30 seconds. Instead of taking a knee or running a dive play, Fulmer and Randy Sanders drop Ainge back to chunk one down the field. He gets drilled, injures his throwing shoulder and is out for the year. It wasn't until Ainge's junior year working with Cutcliffe were he resembled the QB he was before that play. Fans griped and complained about that play, and rightfully so. My point is you can't win with the masses. Their limited capacity only allows them to think in the here and now and not in the future. And in Saturday's case, the 2nd half were we got the ball after halftime. There is a reason coaches have the jobs they do, and fans get drunk and scream.

I think about that play every single time I hear someone complaining about taking a knee at the end of the half.

Lol. First off, Jennings has had one good game, and I doubt it was because of anything Azzani. He has shown that he doesn't coach these receivers into elite players. Jennings made two circus reel highlight catches that were done so by athletic ability. I can assure you Azzani didn't play a part in that.

How do you explain Josh Malone this year? Look, I'm not a huge Coach Z fan, but to say that he doesn't have a part in any of the much improved WR play this year is ridiculous. JJ is a former QB and S, but has looked more like a WR this year, some of that has to be coaching. Tyler Byrd is a true freshman, who was also a DB in high school, some of that has to be coaching, right?

Z isn't doing anything different for the most part... Guys are making plays this year

I think he got them out of that crouching tiger stance. That may be paying dividends.

Also, despite his condescending "fans don't know anything about football" comment, he no longer runs 6,7,8 guys out there in the WR rotation just for the sake of running 6, 7, 8 guys out there in the WR rotation. I suspect this has actually been Jones/Debords' call and adjustment, but I also think this is a huge reason why we're seeing Malone and Jennings beginning to make plays.

We really have no shot at Tee at all.

Don't know how OV got 'burned' by this kid. But the information he has brought over the years ranks with the best of them. I don't know if money changed hands. But when someone credible implies that's what he is hearing, I'm at least listening.

You're right....ZA had absolutely nothing to do with taking a guy that has never played the position before and in less than 2 years he is now breaking the ankles of what most believe as the 1st corner off the board in next year's draft. Coaching had ZERO to do with that??? give me a break.

Give the guy some credit. His guys are playing better this year. I think the lack of a rotation a lot to do with the it as well. You can't rep 9 guys and expect to get any rhythm with the QB.

But those drops sure will be blamed on him. I still don't think all the bad that has been discussed about our receivers is directly coach related. At the end of the day the boys have to make some plays. If they hadn't of dropped 3 that was right in the chest we would have won by a larger margin. Either way I'm excited how the offense is finally starting to turn it on!

Everything I've heard was that the WRs were drilled on getting off the line of scrimmage and running crisper routes. Looks like someone helped them develop.

Makes since. I'm just saying it wasn't a major overhaul.... I wasn't anti Z for the record
