Auburn's offense was dreadful. Malzahn also got desperate going for 4th downs too early instead of taking 3.
Game would have been tied 19-19 if he didn't go for those 4th downs.
It'll be interesting going forward if Auburn is better than we thought or if Clemson is worse than we thought. Personally I have no idea cause neither team played well.
I agree. That game wasn't a great barometer of either team IMO because neither team played well at all. It was similar to the first 25 minutes of the Bama-USC game.
We saw a lot of poor offensive execution from top-10 teams this week. Bama (1st half), Clemson, LSU, Stanford, and Tennessee all looked anemic offensively for large parts of the game. Probably just first game jitters/kinks, but most of those teams suffered from questionable QB play among other reasons.
