'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

Then you don't have to partake. I'm not suggesting that people say horrible, mean things to the kid directly. But at 17 a kid should know right from wrong and be held accountable. Calling him out for an action he put in motion is on him. The fallout he created is on him. That's part of being an adult and making adult decisions. This over protecting of kids Tee's age is why we have a bunch of cocky entitled punks running around. Too many wimpy parents chose not to step up and put their kids in check.

You dang skippy.

This thread should be case study in a psychology class

I'm still waiting for a mod to just do us all a favor and erase this thread from existence. People spend more time in this thread going off the rails than they do discussing other recruits we still have a shot at lol.

Actually....on the other hand the thread should stay open. I want to see it break the threshold and ascend into Vol Nation infamy as the greatest thread of all time.

If Tee's character is as appears, then he wouldn't be accepted back. Richmond never had had a bad character; he just made an early bad decision. Tee is acting like an immature little punk.

To be fair, reports were that Richmond was on our campus and recruiting to Ole Miss. Not on the same level as far as punking that Tee did but still some were like bar him from campus. I can admit I was one of them.

Somebody already pointed this out. So NEVERMIND!

**** changes dude. You act like he can't change his mind

These coaches let kids have their moment unlike Ohio State staff. He can change his mind. The right thing to do is call the coaches and inform them even if it is the night before. He did not do this and it's obvious he did not with the way it went down. Argue it if you must and my bet is that you must.

I missed this. If true, I rescind my statement. :hi:

He was pushing for Scurry to commit to Clemson but Scurry told him no. He said that he would rather play at Ut than Clemson. Also was told he called the Acc a light conference and he wanted to play in a conference who is the only real conference in college football

BowlinggreenVol is now going to blow up his Twitter

He already knows all of this. Bg just wants to argue and defend his beloved Tigers that he claims he has no emotion toward.

Has nothing to do with Clemson. Hubbs seemed to be the only one caught off guard. Quotes in here, from Callahan suggested he wasn't shocked and that he was believed to be leaning towards Clemson down the stretch. Callahan went as far to say the coaches were disappointed in missing out but not shocked, as Hubbs painted them to be. Our own guys reported things differently after the fact. And saying UT is his leader is vastly different than telling the coaches he was coming. Granted, I haven't read all 8k posts word for word so I'd love to see the quote from whomever, explicitly saying Tee told the staff he would announce for UT.

Find me the quote saying he committed to the coaches then backed out without informing them. A Happy 4th of July tweet with 5 oranges has been ran with to the extreme.

He did commit to them on OCD silently and then flipped to Clemson. Butch resended the tweet he put out because he got wind that Tee flipped. Tee misled the whole staff. Also it has been said that a bagman was involved in this. OV even mentioned it as well.

OV said a bagman may be involved and I don't doubt it. OV said nothing of the committing silently at OCD. And I asked for the quote explicitly saying it, not another poster saying it. Does Hubbs, Callahan, Fort, Brice etc have a quote that says "tee committed to the coaches at OCD"? I don't care who Tee spurned us for but I would like to see concrete evidence that it went down the way everyone believes it did.

Damn, you're really trying to make Clemson look like the good guy in this situation. You continue to ignore the "proof" that we've done gave you. So you mean to tell me that it's completely ok to mislead the staff then commit to another school by lying about it? I would say Butch and the staff treated Higgins pretty damn well on all of his visits. What did they do to get an false answer from an 17 year old kid whom they recruited probably the hardest out of any school? If you think Clemson recruited Higgins "cleanly", you're terribly mistaken.

If that is actually what happened then that's fine but keep in mind that he announced Tennessee as his leader on May 30th. Also keep in mind that the 247 Clemson writers never believed that Tennessee was his leader which would indicate that he was giving out conflicting information. It appears that the Bleacher Report video was filmed during the week of June 20th. We have also heard rumors that he was telling UT coaches and players during OCD that he was committing to Tennessee. You can give him the benefit of the doubt if you want to but this does appear to have been more than just an innocent changing of the mind.

May 30 we're his leader. Roughly a month later he films his video. 1 week after filming, he announces his decision. So 6 weeks went by from the time he named us his leader until he announced. 5-6 weeks is a ton of time to contemplate a decision, not to mention he attended Clemson's camp in June, after naming us his leader. I don't see what's so jacked up by the timeline; other than the self-professed rumors.

Struggle with comprehension much? I don't give 2 ****s who he's going to. I have little doubt Clemson paid money. That means I think they're guilty of paying money if you don't understand. How does that make them look good? I'm accusing them of buying a player. But you still didn't provide "proof" that he told our staff he was coming.

I hereby declare on behalf of all of Volnation that Tee Higgins will now be known as code name douchebag. This name shall remain unless he enrolls at The University of TN. At the point, he shall be renamed the WRU Savior. Until then here's to you douchebag. Enjoy your tiny rock and don't trip on the way down the hill.

Last thing I'll say on this topic. And I hope this thread falls into the abyss. Swain also mentioned on his radio show that Tee knew he was going to Clemson since February, which means the 'Tennessee leads' comment was Tee bsing. Hubbs and P Fort never came out and said he committed to the coaches, but it was inferred they had a story ready. So using logic and common sense, why would there be a story on VQ if Tee was going to Clemson, or even if it was up in the air? I have no emotional attachment here, so I'm able to look at it through a clear lens. Some of the posters that are Clemson fans, negavols, Butch critics, or those unable to see any wrongdoing in certain groups of people are too emotionally involved to see this kid straight up lied and his current behavior on social media suggests he's ok with that. All I'm saying is be careful burning a bridge. Never know if you may have to cross it again. There's a way to handle things.

Went back and looked; the only "confirmation" that he committed at OCD were from posters on here who said they got the info from his camp. Possible his camp lied to folks prying for info? Meanwhile on June 21-22 the "VQ troll" claimed he would commit via a BR video and would commit to Clemson, Callahan felt he was trending to Clemson, the 247 national guys were calling it for Clemson and the Clemson mods felt it was them. We discover after the fact, the video obviously happened and filming took place exactly at the time the "troll" claimed it did. Fort and Hubbs were duped, out of the loop, flat wrong or whatever. They were literally the only reputable source thinking UT had a good position and we likely did, if we were in fact the leader in May.

Maybe that's all Tee said to the staff; is you lead. If it wasn't true then he lied about a leader or was ashamed/nervous to tell the staff otherwise. But that's not remotely close to committing in private and then playing/embarrassing them by reneging in public. Which is what most have claimed happened just by inferring or connecting their own dots, which aren't there.

P.S. good shot with the Clemson lovers comment. Conflicting viewpoints are always a sign of team allegiance.
