'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

Yes, but if you can't see that the amount of people "questioning Butch" this offseason has reached career highs, then you are blind.

It's like people want a reason to complain about something. Has the 2017 class so far been what was advertised from like a year ago? No. Not close. But there is also a long way to go and we are on the verge of possibly one of our best seasons since the turn of the century and everyone is on here finding something wrong with what Butch is doing.

Some of you will never be pleased with this program unless it's on a Saban-level dynasty and FYI those are a once in a generation outcome.

I think those who are questioning Butch, including myself, believed recruiting was going to take off after a good year. It's been average up to now. I know it's only July, but the time of the year doesn't seem to matter to other schools.

It's hard to believe that someone attended multiple universities and has moved over the course of their career?

UT for undergrad 2004-07
Clemson for Grad school 2008-09
Transferred to WKU and finished my master's 2009-10.

Lived in FL 1985-2007
Bowling Green, KY 2007-2013
Columbia, TN 2013-present
Relocating to Athens, AL in a month

I'm sorry you didn't get past HS and never left your hometown.

So now you are going to be a Bama fan I guess.

That's the mindset I don't get on here. Some of our fans for some reason believe we've got wait for things to happen. Other programs are definitely not waiting. They are stockpiling the top commitments now. I get it they haven't signed, but having top guys committed is a heck of a lot better than just waiting IMO.

Pretty much the way I feel. I don't understand why a few get so upset if you question Butch on anything. He's the right coach here and he will be successful. But there's a few, actually several, that believe he is above criticism.

He questions Butch on everything. I question his in game coaching which is fair. To question the overall results so far is ridiculous when we went from Dumpster fire to finishing in the top 25 for the first time in forever and being ranked top 10 preseason by most with most thinking a shot at a SEC conference championship.

Butch is having to transition from selling early playing time to selling big wins. He will have those wins this fall. As of now, he only has a few he can point to.

Kirby Smart is just doing the exact same thing Butch did when he came in. Selling early playing time and the promise of a great future. Look, it is not going to be hard to sell to a bunch of kids how great his defenses were at Alabama and to tell them now that he is a head coach he can do that with UGA. Kids are going to salivate at that. Once the season starts and UGA has another 8-4 to 9-3 season Smart is going to have to transition his recruiting pitch, much like Butch is having to do right now. So it's easy to understand why UGA is being so successful.

It also doesn't hurt that the state of Georgia is a very fertile recruiting ground year in and year out.

I don't have many complaints as far as on the field results go. I was good with 9 wins. I saw the improvement. Bowl game was impressive. Things I could sell top recruits on. I believe we play for an SEC title this year. Play in that game and I'm good 2016 on the field expectations wise. Recruiting needs work. Obviously it's not all on Butch. IMO they need to make some changes in how they do things. Some folks warned this recruiting slide may be coming because of the way things were being done. Can it be saved? Sure. Some things need to change.

Almost all of our top rated targets are uncommitted. Your point is null and dull.

I have tried to explain to you what is going on here but you can't do anything but hold onto arguments that show Western Kentucky and other schools in a light that is better than UT. You enjoy it and you do troll to argue just to argue. I pointed out that Clemson is a paper tiger with just recent success. UT has not even had recent success. We have absolutely sucked over the last decade. However, Clemson is not this storied program and that was what was being pointed out. Nothing in my original post was about UT. It was about your Tigers. This last post just shows you troll to argue for the sake of it.

You said Clemson can't hold UT or GT's jock strap over time; I agree on UT. But no one was debating history. Pointing out Clemson has been successful over the last several years and our track record isn't any better is trolling? Sounds like unbiased synopses bother you. I'll have to evaluate my fandom going forward now that you've questioned it.

This right cher. I have been critical of his in game coaching from time to time. I attribute it to his lack of experience at a big time program. I think he's improving as he gets that experience. Recruiting hasn't been one of those things I've worried too much about since his first full class.

Evaluation is needed in multiple forums.

You are about to live there.

I don't root for random teams in the states in which I live. I root for my alma maters; which are UT and WKU. I didn't graduate from Clemson so I'm indifferent towards their success or failure. However, I do have friends from my time there, so I still follow the program in passing in order to talk about our respective games through the season.
