'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

Bottom line. This staff pulled the program out of the ditch and on a better course. However, it will be difficult for us to attract big time wide revivers and QB's running this scheme. 7 yard completions and QB runs may move the chains, but it will not do anything for recruiting.

Tennessee passing stats over the past 5 years is simply awful compared to Clemson and other power 5 teams. I have set in on some of these presentations with recruits. Believe me - it is painful to see the numbers and no answer on what is going to change. Commit to change is what it is going to take to get the talent and results.

I dont know about that. I've seen Dobbs throw it pretty well when we've had no choice but to throw.

See 2014 South Carolina and 2015 Georgia.

This is the key here. Dobbs has a tendency to come through in the clutch. But in the luls of a game, he struggles to be consistent passing.

I feel good about Dobbs making a play on 3rd and 7 in a tie game.

1st and 10 with a 10 point lead in the 3rd quarter? Not so much.

How have you set in? You turtle? I think we should embrace our running game. We are a defense and rb team. Why you guys upset if our offense doesnt need big time wrs? We dont use them anyways and we almost won 12 games last year with an inexperienced team.

Some of you need to lay off of this young man. I am just as disappointed as you guys that he didn't pick UT. But, in the end, it was HIS choice, and we need to learn to respect that. Maybe he'll reconsider before NSD, maybe not. I know some of these kids just love "playing the recruiting game." You need not take it personal!

In the end, we truly need to wish these young men the best in whatever college choice they make.

Just my 2 cents.....

It's fun to read all this over one kid. We haven't even seen what this year class has to offer. Dobbs was forced to play early instead of RS but it's all the scheme. If Ferguson would not of wimped out and won the job I guess most think he would of been throwing the ball all over the yard. We would of got Tee.

Damn you stupid assed Vol fans. Clemson does not care the square root of poop abt Latrell Bumphus.
They are signaled now for Trey Smith. Higgins' is their's and he's not coming back. Tee Higgins is, apparently, a simple minded bought and paid for altar boy for for Dabo's sponsored Friar of faith...Hunter Jonson.L

GBO!

To bad tee will not be catching any of this chumps passes. He will not play there because he sucks and will end up transferring to Indiana when all said and done. Must be color blind because the games I watched he threw as many interceptions as he did completions.

What was said? All we hear is Hubbs saying he was led to believe by someone. Now Calalhan is saying many believed for awhile he was headed to Clemson. Which is it? Sounds like Hubbs and Co were the only ones with bad info.
I guess none of us truly know. I agree it's a bit presumptuous of us to accuse them of outright lies.

Not taking up for him.His line is terrible. The games I've watched he has been running for his life. But I agree I think he transfers.

I have never liked a liar and don't plan to now. Pick Clemson or whomever you wish but don't punk people you say you respect and call friends. His choice in schools is fine. The way he handled it not so much. Richardson choose Clemson but did not make a fool of himself in doing so.

Because no one wins with just running the ball. You have to be able to stretch the field when needed. Even Bama can and does do it.

This, Warrior played the recruiting game. He did not disrespect the home state school...unless I missed something(if I did I'm sure one of you fine folks will quickly correct me)

They need to play like it's 3rd and 7 every play...the same sense of urgency.

We won't miss Tee until after next season anyhow. Why should we cry about it? He is only the top 5* WR recruit in the country & out of the state of Tennessee? We should never get mad over that should we guys? LOL! :p

I'll have what he's having. In fact, make it two.

lets see if we can keep talking about a kid who trolled the coaches and fans and picked another school until we start another thread... get over it people... he is one kid. Every time he sees another page, he giggles his arse off seeing how much he is getting to us... kill the thread.

I would hate to be another WR recruit seeing all the negatives that people are putting in this thread....after reading this I sure as heck wouldn't want to go to TN

Recruits know better. People are blowing off steam because this is a Vol board and the appropriate place to do it. I would be flattered because it shows how much he meant to us. Tee is a stud and we'd all welcome him back with a vengeance if he changes his mind.

Yeah, I'm sure that's what our staff will do 7 months out from NSD for a prior commitment who is 30 miles away from us for a 5* WR that we desperately need... Are you sure you don't want to reconsider a career in sales? You have a helluva future!

Been in sales for 25 years, thanks. Carved out a nice little living myself.

The kid just put together a major production with Bleacher Report to announce his commitment. Iirc, he's also an early enrollee.... I personally don't see him reneging/reconsidering, do you? I think they're better off putting their time and resources into other talented WRs who have legitimate interest in Tennessee....clearly, Higgins does not IMO.

Especially since the kid just said he's shutting it down. Focus the time elsewhere.
