'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

Wow imagine JG and Tee having time to prepare before 2017 since he's an EE. Would've been pretty nice.

Lol. Do wut? It's over IMO. Just move on and put our recruiting efforts where they can be fruitful.

Yeah, I'm sure that's what our staff will do 7 months out from NSD for a prior commitment who is 30 miles away from us for a 5* WR that we desperately need... Are you sure you don't want to reconsider a career in sales? You have a helluva future!

If I was Butch, I would be pushing the NCAA hard to schedule Clemson next year. I know it won't happen but I would love nothing more than Tennessee to beat Dabo at his own game. But they want to continue to play average opponents every week.

They have played 2 SEC teams OOC practically every year for the last 6. Show me a P5 team who schedules more than two P5 OOC opponents in a single year. Hopefully I'm not dead of old age by the time you get back to me.

You're right about the fact that they have no obligation to say anything to anyone. So why not do exactly that, just don't say anything??

What was said? All we hear is Hubbs saying he was led to believe by someone. Now Calalhan is saying many believed for awhile he was headed to Clemson. Which is it? Sounds like Hubbs and Co were the only ones with bad info.

Has it been said yet that it would do a world of good in the recruiting sphere if Dobbs got conveniently "hurt" 3 weeks or so before the season and JG got the start against App State? We can beat them with the ground game and possibly special teams by itself. Let him get out there are sling it on 1st and 2nd every other series and show these recruits what they have to look forward to. Dobbs comes back for VT and we ride it out with him the rest of the season with JG getting trash time where we continue to let him sling it. Sounds like a good idea to me. As long as it doesn't lose us more games than last year, it feels fool-proof to me. Would definitely spark some interest in these guys who may be on the fence.

So we re struggling to find a 17/18 quarterback and your brilliant plan is to blow JGs red shirt over a recruiting stunt? Ridiculous.

Agreed. I'm not even sure JG beats out Dormady and or Jones. I think QD is #2 currently, and will be this year. Is it a sure thing JG beats out QD and SJ in 2017? No. Kid hasn't taken a snap. LOL

My mistake I thought you asked who had played two P5 OOC.

No problem. VolFreakJosh is knocking Clemson for playing "nobodies" and insinuating they're scared to play us. No one would play USC, UT and AU/UGA in a season OOC. Just like we wouldn't go play Clemson, UNC and UVA in the same season.

I still say he is a vol on NSD

Ridiculous. Boys and girls, this chicken, Higgins, has flown the coup. By the time NSD arrives in Feb. 17, Higgins will a third of the way through his first semester of college at Clemson.
Now......why did we miss on this guy? We missed on him because he perceived fast glory and acclaim as a standout receiver in an offensive scheme piloted by his leader, Hunter Johnson and Johnson's acolyte, Amari Rogers. That suggests that Higgins is a follower......perhaps a bit light upstairs; but he's a dab. hand at catching footballs, I'll certainly give him that. And in parting with him.....because of his duplicity leading up to his declaration for Clemson.....I will not wish him well. I wish him mediocre attendance upon the game and no harm.
Frankly, we...Vols....don't pass well enough to hold a guy like Higgins' somewhat apparent limited attention span. We all love Josh, and we'll keep him, but he's no championship passer.
So, too bad for Higgins.....you missed out, not us. Too bad. Sadly, you are easily, and wrongly led.

Had Tee lied, clowned, or misled Clemson and chose UT, every one here would have been fine with it.

If Tee had:

"This is recruiting, its cut throat, and not for wimps"! "Suck it Clemson"!

Wish Tee was a Vol but you win some, you lose some.

The biggest issue I have is that he feels the staff will underutilize him in our offense which is a good reasoning with all bias aside. But, I believe that is more on the player than the coach, even our "system" is more suited for the run game.

All I'm saying is if Derek Dooley led teams produced draft picks, anyone can. CP was a 1st rounder, and JH was what, 2nd or 3rd round? I understand CP was a gazelle, but he was only at UT for 1 year.

It doesn't matter what system you run, how much the ball is thrown to you, if you can play you can play and the NFL will find you.

Besides Sammy Watkins, who is injury prone, who has Clemson got drafted as a WR lately? M. Bryant- ganja soul smoker? And I'm pretty sure he wasn't a 1st rounder

Dooleys teams with Bray also featured the WRs. Lots of deep passing. Very different offense.

As would Clemson fans if the situation were reversed. Hence the point of being a fan. You think Butch is dirty for pulling offers and that our fan base are hypocrites. Maybe Power 5 football isn't the sport for you.

Hopkins #1 in 2013 and Watkins #1 in 2014, IIRC.
