'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

Wish Tee was a Vol but you win some, you lose some.

The biggest issue I have is that he feels the staff will underutilize him in our offense which is a good reasoning with all bias aside. But, I believe that is more on the player than the coach, even our "system" is more suited for the run game.

All I'm saying is if Derek Dooley led teams produced draft picks, anyone can. CP was a 1st rounder, and JH was what, 2nd or 3rd round? I understand CP was a gazelle, but he was only at UT for 1 year.

It doesn't matter what system you run, how much the ball is thrown to you, if you can play you can play and the NFL will find you.

Besides Sammy Watkins, who is injury prone, who has Clemson got drafted as a WR lately? M. Bryant- ganja soul smoker? And I'm pretty sure he wasn't a 1st rounder

Deandre Hopkins, who is the best of the bunch.

Hopkins appears to be a potential star in Houston.

Had Tee lied, clowned, or misled Clemson and chose UT, every one here would have been fine with it.

If Tee had:

"This is recruiting, its cut throat, and not for wimps"! "Suck it Clemson"!

Swain said he knew Tee was leaning Clemson for a while. I can't figure how our insiders were all off...I am waiting to hear from GFW

I never really comment about who clowns who, but my take is this. It's one thing to clown an out of state school to build up drama for your video...it's different when you clown the school 20 minutes from your house. Many will say that doesn't matter, but to me it does.

Hopkins #1 in 2013 and Watkins #1 in 2014, IIRC.

Forgot about Hopkins. So even with their recent success they only have one more 1st round WR selected in the draft than we have in the last few years? And we weren't even good when Hopkins and Watkins were still playing CFB.

As would Clemson fans if the situation were reversed. Hence the point of being a fan. You think Butch is dirty for pulling offers and that our fan base are hypocrites. Maybe Power 5 football isn't the sport for you.

Sure it's for me. I just think there are other ways to achieve success. I believe sometimes a change is needed. I think we're there. I'd hate to see us slip further based on being stubborn.

You're absolutely right. You wouldn't catch a kid from Northport Alabama pulling that crap.

It matters to me too and many others on here as well- I think if Tee didn't live down the road from our stadium for crying out loud maybe it wouldn't be so gut wrenching. Business decision or not, he had the chance to be upfront at OCD and chose not to. He had already commited to Clemson by then anyway silently. He shouldn't be welcome at Neyland Stadium or our facilities again.

IDT it's so much what Clemson has, but what elite recruits think we don't. If Malone and Williams had put up decent numbers last year, it would be a different conversation. Williams was coming off an unfortunate injury, but our elite WR production has been subpar since these kids started HS. That's forever to a 17-year-old who wants his best shot at the NFL.

The difference is he's from Tennessee and has to come back here.

If he misled Clemson, he likely never steps foot in Greenville ever again.

The kid is enjoying the limelight. He probably cracking up reading all the posts about him! He's immature and wants to get away from family, neighbors, schoolmates and friends. As he matures, and the reality of only a few being able to attend many of his games will maybe dawn on him. If he turns pro in a few years, he'll get his chance to move far away.

As for me, unless he happens to get drafted by the Titans, I'll not spend anymore energy on him! Goodbye!

He trolled Butch, supposed insiders, and Vol fans.... All we can do now is be successful this season, doing our talking on the field, and leave the door open if there is room left in the end-- everything else will fall into place. Everyone needs to turn their attention now towards the recruits we still have a chance with and do our best to close... Tee does not deserve anymore of our attention at this point, he made his decision which is fine, so now we concentrate on the kids who want to be a VOL! This thread needs to die.

Sometimes people want to get away. Our best WR was the #1 WR from GA and wanted nothing to do with UGA. Kamara dissed the home state school twice for Bama and TN when UGA fans thought both times they had him.

Tigernet is so ****ty. How do they even use that garbage board. They think they are going to land Bumphus in the end lolol

Damn you stupid assed Vol fans. Clemson does not care the square root of poop abt Latrell Bumphus.
They are signaled now for Trey Smith. Higgins' is their's and he's not coming back. Tee Higgins is, apparently, a simple minded bought and paid for altar boy for for Dabo's sponsored Friar of faith...Hunter Jonson.L

GBO!

Has it been said yet that it would do a world of good in the recruiting sphere if Dobbs got conveniently "hurt" 3 weeks or so before the season and JG got the start against App State? We can beat them with the ground game and possibly special teams by itself. Let him get out there are sling it on 1st and 2nd every other series and show these recruits what they have to look forward to. Dobbs comes back for VT and we ride it out with him the rest of the season with JG getting trash time where we continue to let him sling it. Sounds like a good idea to me. As long as it doesn't lose us more games than last year, it feels fool-proof to me. Would definitely spark some interest in these guys who may be on the fence.

I've seen some dumb things on this board but this may be the absolute most ridiculous statement I have EVER heard.

Literally read "We will probably end up with DE Bumphus also"

Numb nuts

So if we win the title and we replace kamara, hurd, Dobbs, sutton, and Barnett with community college kids it won't matter?

It's safe to say we take at least a small step back next year. New QB, New RBs, might lose your best DL guy, best LB, and best CB to start with.

If that were the case at other SEC schools we would chalk them up as a win for us. Butch just has to focus on getting young guys ready this year as soon as games are in hand. Get the 2's and 3's significant work.

Vols have a chance to be elite at DT (and even DE, despite the losses of Barnett and Vereen) and definitely at OL next season. When you can dominate in the trenches, the skill position guys suddenly look much better across the board.
