Quick get another 3* that's underrated and will be coached up to commit to try and ease the pain.

What's kind of strange about that is Johnson picked Tennessee over Notre Dame not Clemson. Clemson seemed to come out of nowhere. Here is something we know for sure: Clemson recruits the Tennessee and Georgia commitment lists VERY hard. I hope our staff is keeping a close eye on Maleik Gray.

I wish we were able to keep HJ. He'd likely be the best recruiter we have. Yes, I'm including the staff. LOL

Tee Martin is dead to me. Take his name off the street sign and give it to someone else. As far as I am concerned Tee Higgins has to be the most unpopular person in the state of Tennessee tonight. Butch Jones seat is about to get VERY HOT. Fans are not going to tolerate poorly ranked recruiting classes and under achievement on the field.

We've improved every year under Butch. We gave away some wins last year but by most experts expectations we overachieved. I would say Butch has one of the coldest seats in the SEC unless we somehow win less than 10 games.

That's not what I initially responded to though and not what you initially said. You said they had "ONE flash in the pan season". That's simply not true. Now why they've had the success they've had is a whole other argument and conference SOS has some validity but it's not what you started off with. However, Clemson has recruited at a top 10 level pretty consistently and has SEC-esque talent so I see no reason why they wouldn't compete for division titles, especially if in they were in the East.

I was confident this would easily be a top 3 class. But damn, didn't foresee losing many big in state players like this. But. I won't doubt Jones yet. Anything less than top 5 is a letdown though. But as I said I won't doubt Jones. His classes have met expectations or surpassed them every year so far

Let's not get carried away... Butch hasn't had a team underachieve yet and at least until this year (which is far from over) his recruiting has been very good. As for Tee Martin, it's unclear if he has any influence over Amari Rodgers at all. Let's not forget Rodgers de-committed from USC and didn't reconsider them after Tee Martin was promoted to Offensive Coordinator. Also, Tee Martin was never married to Amari Rodgers' mother and they have lived 2,100 miles apart for over 5 years now.

Sorry bringing a sense of reality is throwing salt. Anyone who discounts Clemson's success the last 5 years on the field, recruiting trail, NFL draft success etc compared to us is either naive, stupid or blind homerism. It sucks losing a kid to anyone but acting like he made some inferior choice simply isn't true (other than its not UT so it's inferior). As much as some on here get tired of the negativity, pessimism etc. I get tired of the baseless homerism when discussing programs and/or recruits.

Yes, but he also turned down a chance to come back and coach here. Then rubbed it in our face. Not to mention the comments about Jalen Hurd being soft. He just seems to have a bad vibe going with UT right now.

Yeah, so let's just forget about that national title because of some bad vides... Nothing you just mentioned has anything to do with our current recruiting struggles. We don't even know if Tee Martin was here that Amari Rodgers and Tee Higgins would be coming to UT. There is a lot we don't know.
