'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

Agreed. He's been a contributor, but production and intensity has not reached expectations

5 star WRs are supposed to be what they are from Day 1. Certain things like attacking the ball in jump ball situations aren't things you should wait on. Preston Williams for example already was attacking passes last year and he was hurt. Malone hasn't done it on a consistent basis yet. I want to see him at his size win downfield all year.

Amen & I agree 100%!

You think he puts it together this year. I hope he puts it together this year. It's past time for Malone to play up to his 5 star talent.

That drop in the end zone vs South Carolina was almost very costly. That was one of the best passes Dobbs threw all season and was right in his hands. :thud:

Yeah. Malone has had a case of the dropsies ever since arriving on campus as a freshman. I'd like to know how many passes he's dropped since his freshman season. Something I've never looked into but I know it has to be quite a few.

He must not have the greatest hands in the world or he's just not concentrating on watching the ball come to him. No excuses for as many dropped passes for him. He's too good & elite to be doing this game in & game out. Let's hope this changes for 2016.

Those type of plays make QBs hesitant to throw passes to certain WRs. I'd love to see Dobbs with WRs he can trust to make a play for him. Watson at Clemson is great but he also has a group of WRs that he trusts to make the play every time. You can see it with how he threads some passes in versus tight coverage. Our guys HAVE to step up and do that.

Hurd dat

I don't think he turns it on, and I'm waiting for him to prove me wrong

Having a true go to WR will drastically help this offense. It doesn't have to be the most talented guy in the group but as others have said someone with that alpha dog WR mentality. someone that is constantly thinking and acting like "That is my ball".

Tennessee will have 2 TEs that fit that description in Wolf and Croom. I would say P Williams and Josh Smith will also be that type. 4 weapons for the passing game plus RBs out of the backfield should be enough. Any others that step up would be a nice bonus.

Robert Meachem wasn't playing like a 5* until his third year.

True, but rare exception. Prove us wrong Malone. Save my posts, bump them, and I will eat as much crow as you want to serve. My opinion, and that's not worth much, is that he does not have the mental edge and desire needed. People mentioned this way back in his high school career, and it's carried forward

Preston Williams and Josh Smith have it, and will go Boss Hog on folks this year

Malone will has improved each year, but his 5 star ranking was too much.

Marquez Callaway will push him. Watch and see. Preston

Not much mention of Jennings in these posts. If it's "dog" y'all are looking for, he's apparently the pit bull of the group. Think the only limitations have been inexperience and minor injuries.
