'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

Hubbs basically said this week that it's really only a race between Clemson and Tennessee. With everything that's been said about Dobbs wanting to prove his skeptics wrong, I think we'll see a leap in the passing game that will not only secure Higgins but will show future prospects that the passing game will thrive here.

With our future roster makeup, I believe we become more of a passing team after this season.

I think our passing game will be better this year, but we will still be a run oriented offense. THat is not going to change, no matter how good Dobbs performs in the passing game.

I cannot imagine a scenario where we under-utilize a pair of RB's the caliber of Jalen Hurd and Alvin Kamara.

I agree with everything you just said! I think with Dormady likely the QB next year we will have someone that passing will be his strong suit.

I believe Jones has proved over time that he will play to his players strong suits. Surely a prospect would take that into consideration when making his choice.

Watson will be gone at Clemson before he could get there and he is a major, major reason for their success. After reading this last article I feel very good about the good guys getting his services. JMO

I think he can respect that...as long as DeBord shows the possibility of adjusting, depending on the strengths of future signalcallers.

Dobbs passing and the TN running game (Hurd and Kamara) should be mostly irrelevant to Higgins recruiting as they will all be gone next year. It would be nice, however, to get some big, early leads this year so Dormady can get some reps and display his passing skills.

He is and has always been a Vol. Just wants to go see places and also he likes the passion that is shown here when he does take other visits. He loves UT and also does read this board from time to time.

Well Tee if you're reading this just know I got you rated as the #1 player in the 2017 class. Not just Tennessee but the whole country.

AJ Green 2.0. That is what your future holds.

This all day. Why can't these kids see that.? We have a DTQB right now that they won't even be playing with. This squad runs, runs, and runs. But after this year, the runners are gone.

Williams, Jennings, Higgins, Josh Smith and Malone would be sweet next year

Totally agree. Kamara and Hurd MUST be utilized. But of they are and injury free, then they are gone to the NFL and there isn't a Hurd or Kamara on the roster, at least not yet.
:)

I hope consistency and ability to pass are enough because a team with Hurd, Kamara, and Dobbs isn't gonna look like the 2012 offense throwing the ball all over the yard.

I would really question my decision if I were committed to UT and we came out running the air raid or something.

Seeing receivers get open, being able to stretch the field to keep a defense from loading the box, and picking up 6-10 yards consistently to help with 3rd and long are really my expectations for our passing game.

I like this idea.

Pretty simple here, WIN and show we can move the ball vertically down field and Tee will be a Vol. If we struggle and Clemson has another successful year with another big time WR making plays it'll be hard for him not to go that route (pun intended).

I have a hard time discussing this with some folks who want WRU to stay true, but when you have Dobbs, Kamara, and Hurd in the backfield those are gonna be your work horses, on ANY team no matter who you have on the outside. We have talent at WR, I just think it gets lost amongst our superior talent at RB at the current moment in time. Also there is no "alpha" receiver atm so once one of those guys steps up and accepts the role and pushes his other WR I don't think we will do much on the outside. Having a healthy Pwill will help things, as well as moving Croom to TE along side Wolf, who I believe will have a HUGE year.

We will be alright either way, no one recruit will make or break this class. edit* Tee would be a huge loss no doubt, but there are other talented guys out there as well, thats all.

Can't argue with that.

My response to all recruiting issues/problems:

I believe that Preston Williams will become the Alpha. Our offense is a physical run over you type at the moment and I don't have a problem with being RBU right now.
