Tee's film looks significantly better than Malone's film, imo.[/

Malones was better but that is SR film vs Soph. I don't know what Malone looked like as a Soph. So very well could have better than Malones So stuff for a more fair comparison. Malones SR film was fantastic

Four-star in-state WR Tee Higgins commits to Vols

Loved Higgin's commitment video. Outside behind the house in the neighborhood with family and friends. No pomp, no circumstance. Just 100% real. Refreshing.

The funny is they all held hidden Vol car flags and waved them when he announced Vols. Unfortunately, half the family behind him are already rocking Vol gear in a dead giveaway. If he'd pulled out an FSU or Bammer hat, this may have turned into an ISIS style beheading video. (Obligatory JK, in case some have lost sense of humor)

Looking forward to seeing this kid in Orange!

Former Vol quarterback Jerry Colquitt today offered the following positively glowing praise for Tee Higgins:

Jerry described Higgins as "a 'generational' talent that is better than any player to ever come out of Oak Ridge. Not only that but Jerry said that Tee Higgins is a guy that will go down in the annals of UT in the same breath as a guy like Carl Pickens." The Tony Basilio Show

Gaddis described the 6-foot-4, 184-pound student-athlete as “a quarterback’s best friend.”

“We tell our guys, ‘Throw (Tee) the ball,’ because he’s likely to catch it, whether he’s open or not,” Gaddis said. “He can out jump the defender or he can outrun the defender.

“He’s just a presence on the field that’s going to demand a lot of attention; and we feel like there’s not an adequate amount of attention (other teams) can provide to shut him down.”

That is a pretty bold statement right there.

I remember my dad telling me stories about when jerry played at oak ridge in the late 80s. Jerry is the QB that got hurt in the UCLA game that let Peyton Manning take over. Anyways i still think that Shawn Summers is the best player to come out of Oak Ridge but Tee still has 2 years left. When all is said and done he may pass Shawn Summers as the best ive ever seen at Oak Ridge.

What a dumb statement to make about a 16 year old kid. "Will go down in the same breath as Carl Pickens". Give me a break. These comparisons need to stop. It isn't fair to the kid and is completely asinine to any Vol fan with the slightest bit of intelligence. To make any projections about Tee Higgins place in Volunteer history at this point in time is beyond ludicrous.

Strict code you live by there...thankfully former Vols (and everybody else) can sidestep and have a little fun. :)

Easy killer... I think the comment is a bit premature myself, but I think you are going overboard.

So you're saying........you agree with it?

The majority of you would come down hard on a guy that compares a HS sophomore to Carl Pickens...don't let the fact that it is a former Vol mask the ridiculousness of the statement. By this logic, we ought to start comparing D. Barnett to NFL Hall of Fame pass rushers...I mean c'mon, he had a stellar freshman year in college.

Reggie White-esque, IMO.

Barnett is pretty much a cross between Lawrence Taylor & Reggie White, only better.

Jerry Colquitt was a very good quarterback who sat behind Heath Shuler for three years. He was all set to start in '94, but he had a season ending injury early in the first game against UCLA. Still feel bad for him for not getting his chance to shine.
