It happens. As bad as it sounds, some season ending injuries you see that look very questionable on replay could point to a little payback for such scenarios. TIFWIW
Playing with fire when getting into the big money especially this early and right when all eyes on Ole Miss on your conference
I have someone who is close to Tee from an athletic standpoint and I would constantly ask this person about him when we had family get togethers. They constantly maintained Tee loved UT more than anything every time we talked.
The last time I saw them at a family function I inquired about him again and they indicated to me that Tee really wants to go to Clemson and I didn't want to believe it because I hadn't heard anything like this before. But they also stated he had a lot of people around him who were trying to influence him and possibly use him so he needed to go somewhere to get away from that negative influence. Now, hearing all of this, I am able to piece it together and believe that this occurred but the influence got what they wanted from someone affiliated with Clemson in some capacity. I kind of feel for him in some ways and opened my eyes that this probably happens more often than most people know.
Yeah, I missed that as well.
I don't think saying you're shutting it down is negativity directed at us.
I generally disregard rumors of money changing hands in recruiting. I certainly think it happens from time to time but not as frequently as fans talk about it happening. So, originally, I disregarded the rumor about money being involved with Tee until OV commented on it. He's as legit as it comes on this site. I now consider the fact that a demand for payment likely happened.
But, to be clear, OV only said his source indicated a demand was made for UT to pay a handler for Tee and UT declined. As far as I can tell, no one with a demonstrated track record of accuracy has said Clemson actually paid Tee or someone for Tee. I think OV said that a demand was made and UT declined, UT can prove the demand was made, and the matter was referred to the NCAA. The implication may be that Clemson, via some method, did pay Tee or the handler and that is the reason for the unexpected commitment but that hasn't been confirmed as of yet by OV or anyone similarly situated.
Tee's commitment really hurt UT's recruiting efforts to date. I know it is early in the cycle but I think it really hurts because Tee seems like a star WR in the making (i.e., a type of player we haven't really had under Butch) and it is harder to flip a recruit than land him originally. I also think it hurts our momentum out on the trail since the attention or commitment of a player like Tee can help with others, like Jacoby Stevens, Trey Smith, etc., and, even if Tee flips back to us, it may be too late with other players. I'm still hoping we can get him on board since he will be a big hit if we land him and a big miss if not.
Like there are not bad influences at Clemson? Makes no sense. And why play Butch like that? There was no need to play it bad like this. I would have a lot better feeling about this kid, if he had just been honest to everyone about wanting to leave Knoxville. IF.. what you heard is true, I can at least understand it, but I don't get the leading us on horsecrap. Makes me think he is just another low character horses tail.
Stfu. You're making yourself look more stupid than you really are.
You guys are sad. We don't get a recruit we want so there must have been money involved. We have had a helluva recruiting run since CBJ arrived. Money involved there too?
Tee started badmouthing the coaching staff. He said they had treated him unfairly after he announced his de-committment. I don't believe that for one second because otherwise Tee would have completely taken us off his possible committent list if this had happened.
Bold above. It may be too late for a Tee flipping even if he wanted to do so. If this comes out in the open & is true that Clemson paid off Tee to come there he's going to be punished as well. Maybe a year of suspension. Maybe more. Maybe even his college career would be in jeopardy.
Also, due to Clemson & UT being involved even if the NCAA allows Tee to come back & play they may say these are two teams that you are not allowed to play for period.
I really hope this is not true myself. We're talking about the possibility of ruining the college career of what could be one of the most special WR's/athletes not only from the state of Tennessee but the entire country ever to have played.
He would still have an NFL chance I'm sure but this off the field problem would really hurt him & his draft status at a later date & time. Kind of like the Bryce Brown situation a few years ago although he did play one year for us.
We only know about it when people quote him....
The only way to discourage that poster is totally ignoring him. Any attention is good attention for him.
You are giving him a positive re-enforcement for his posts, regardless of the content of your post.
Fwiw, Doug Mathews said the fact that Higgins committed this early will only help intensify Tennessee's recruitment of him. Looks as though not only will we not back off, but according to him, we're gonna turn up the heat in hopes of flipping him.
Nb4 "thanks Tips". Just adding Mathews' thoughts.

So if a recruit isn't 100% honest and up front about his recruiting he's of low character among other things.
Its not part of recruiting? It's not a business decision based on what's best for him? Didn't he leave plenty of time for a school to find a replacement? It'd not like he waited till late January. All this sounds oddly familiar.
