"Just being able to relax and spend time with the coaches builds a relationship," Gray said. "That's what I like is being able to have that great relationship both on and off the field. Just have fun and I like it a lot."
"I just love the atmosphere and I love the campus on game days," Gray said. "It's just so different. Words don't explain how it makes me feel. Other campuses have their own feel, but there is something different at Tennessee. It just feels like home."
"I would say that I'm really gelling with Bob Shoop," Gray said. "He offered me in 8th grade and I realized how I could fit into the defensive scheme. He was telling me how they could build the scheme around me and he could set me up to make plays. Who wouldn't want to be in that position?"
The hopes are high for a LaVergne team that could contend for championships this Fall. Both Gray and Fant will present mismatch problems for opponents, but will the get the chance to do that together at the next level?
"I would love and honestly it would be something cool to play with a high school teammate," Gray said. "Him being so good on the offensive side and me being good on the defensive side would be a great combination depending on how much hard work we put into it. Hopefully change a program."
As for a decision, Gray isn't so sure he'll be a prospect that takes things all the way into 2017 and says he'll have no problem ending his recruitment if he feels he has found the perfect fit."
